Victoria Beckham is open about her breast implant removal.
The 51-year-old Spice Girls member turned fashion designer recently joked to the British tabloid The Sun that the implants she once had “tremble in the Mediterranean Sea.”
“I don’t know where those boobs went, but they did,” she said in an interview published on Oct. 10. “He definitely worked with (fashion designer) Roland (Mouret) who did it.”
She continued, “It came from needing to be taken more seriously and not knowing who I was. And so I think Roland encouraged me to just be me — to not feel like I had to be that person. Just toning it down.”

Beckham has previously kept details of the cosmetic procedure close to her chest, even denying speculation that she had been stabbed. In a letter to her 18-year-old self published in British Vogue In 2017, Beckham wrote: “I should probably say don’t mess with your boobs. I’ve been in denial all these years – stupid. A sign of insecurity. Just celebrate what you’ve got.”
in 2014, she told Allure magazine after looking at an older bustier photo of her that “I don’t have them anymore. I think I might have bought them.” When pressed, “Did your chest just go away?” she replied, “Or they were removed, one or the other.”
She later clarified that she did remove the implants, but denied that the decision was due to painful symptoms.

Victoria Beckham was ‘searching for my identity’ after the Spice Girls
Speaking to The Sun, Beckham reflected on her fashion choices since the Spice Girls first went their separate ways in 2001.
“I think I spent so long after the Spice Girls looking for my purpose and I didn’t know what it was, so I guess that’s why I dressed that way. There were lots of hair extensions, tight tops and fake tan, although I still do fake tan,” she said.
“I’m not going to lie, it was probably to get attention, because I was looking for my identity.”
Beckham’s comments about being image-conscious mirror what she said in her new Netflix documentary about being “very critical of myself” and exerting control through my clothing choices and eating disorders.
The US Food and Drug Administration has, in recent years, warned patients about the possible risks the insertion of breast implants, which include capsular contracture – scar tissue pressing on an implant – possible rupture of the implant, cancer of the immune systemand breast implant disease.
Although celebrities like Kylie Jenner and Meghan Trainor have promoted the implants, with the latter emphasizing how the procedure improved her body image, others were open about removal due to various mental and natural effects.
