FROM hair dye to eyelash extensions and acrylic nails to fake tan – we’re all guilty of using beauty accessories from time to time.
Especially if it helps us get rid of an insecurity.
But one company has been accused of taking things to a worrying new level with a product designed to combat ‘flabby and saggy’ thighs.
Instalift “uses specially designed skin lifting tape to tighten and lift loose skin, creating an instant slimming and sculpting effect.”
It comes in a pack of 10 for £19.99 and can be used on a variety of body parts – from the arms to the stomach.
But it was a TikTok video advertisement for the tape showing how effective it can be on the legs which has caused outrage from some people.

IF THE SHOE FIT
I lost 5st in fat – I have zero loose skin and dropped a shoe size
The clip showed a woman placing one end of the tape on her thigh and securing it firmly to the skin.
Then he pulled the tape tight and attached the other end higher up – pulling the skin underneath as well.
Once she had it in place, she pulled down the leg of her shorts, the tape completely hidden underneath.
“The viral leg lift you’ve seen all over the internet,” the TikTok video was captioned.
“Smooth, lift and shape instantly – so you can feel confident in shorts, skirts and dresses again.”
And while some people quickly headed to the website to buy the product, others took aim at the makers of The Instalift in the comments section.
“We need to normalize being normal and natural,” one person wrote.
“All these things just reinforce insecurities based on mindsets and ridiculous social norms.”
“Stop it, we’re only human!” another was added.
“Dear sir,” sighed a third.
“God forbid we have normal bodies!”
“CAN I BE IN PEACE PLEASE?” someone else shouted.
Common causes of breast sagging
Gravity: Over time, the constant pull of gravity can cause the ligaments in the breasts to stretch and loosen, especially in larger ones
Smoking: Smoking reduces blood supply to the skin, leading to loss of elasticity and premature sagging
Lack of Support: Not wearing a properly fitting bra, especially during exercise, can lead to stretching of breast tissue and ligaments
Weight gain and loss: Changes in body weight can cause changes in fatty tissue in the breasts, making them more prone to sagging
“Girls, ask yourself, do I really need this, for God’s sake?” another commented.
“Please girls don’t do this..nothing wrong or shameful just be yourself it’s normal conditions legs hands skin etc…” added another.
“If I ever get insecure enough to use something like this, just euthanize,” wrote another.
However, others were more involved with the product and insisted that it would prove useful in their lives.
“OMG after losing 78 pounds my feet need these!” wrote one.
“I need it!” another gushed.
