Fashion film, Photoshop and makeup artists acting as magicians make it difficult to tell who in Hollywood has opted for breast augmentation and who hasn’t—and, as Pittsburgh plastic surgeon Leo R. McCafferty, MD, reminds us, when the procedure at a board-certified plastic surgeon, makes it even harder to tell. “The best celebrity breast augmentation and revision is the one that can’t be detected,” she says.
Newport Beach, California plastic surgeon Tim Sayed, MD agrees, adding, “some of the most aesthetically pleasing and balanced breast augmentations are the ones where you ask, ‘What did or is a really good bra do?'”
Celebrity images can provide valuable insight and guidance when considering breast augmentation decisions in a number of ways. First, they provide visual references for different breast shapes, sizes, and proportions, helping individuals visualize their desired results and effectively communicate with their plastic surgeon about their aesthetic goals. Second, by seeing the results of breast augmentation on celebrities, people can evaluate the results in real-life conditions and understand how different sizes, shapes, and placements of implants might look on different body types.
We caught up with some of the top plastic surgeons in the country to comment on both rumored and current breast augmentations and revisions. Below, the cases they believe can show what to expect with breast augmentation procedures.

“Kaley Cuoco she’s a good example of someone who was open about the female empowerment and confidence boost she received with a well-done but not too extreme breast augmentation,” says Dr. Sayed.
“Her breasts look very natural, with a slight slope at the top of the chest,” adds Vero Beach, Florida plastic surgeon Jimmy Chim, MD. “Her growth does not go past the outer borders of her chest on the sides. These elements create natural results and classy curves without the obvious telltale signs of surgery.”

Beverly Hills plastic surgeon Rady Rahban, MD says Halle Berry is a great example of a natural looking breast augmentation. “Her breast augmentation suits her frame,” she says. “For her height and proportions, her breasts are a reasonable size: her cleavage is not obnoxious, her breasts are not protruding and the upper parts are not unnaturally round. So I think in general it has one of the nicest results.”
New York City plastic surgeon Elie Levine, MD, adds, “Her breasts fit her frame, and the fact that they’re not overbuilt gives her a more natural look.”

For patients seeking a fuller aesthetic, with a more voluptuous appearance and body balance, Campbell, CA plastic surgeon Kamakshi R. Zeidler, MD says at the top of the list Emily Ratajkowski.
“Balancing the curves from chest to hips is important,” explains Dr. Zeidler. “The side lines of the body are also important – the chest to the side – and of course the cleavage is elegant, subtle, natural-looking and yet still full and round which combines for a perfectly individual aesthetic.”

Says Dr Rahban Kate HudsonHer growth is one of the best in Hollywood because “the size she chose is right for her frame. People don’t think it’s impossible to be hers,” she says. “Hudson’s breasts look very natural without any of the telltale signs sometimes seen in augmentation, such as overly high riding breasts and obvious upper pole fullness,” says New York City plastic surgeon Craig Baldenhofer, MD.

Not all celebrity breast augmentations are a shining golden example of what to ask for at your surgeon’s office when you’re in the market for a natural result. “The thing with someone like Gwen Stefani it’s because she started with no breast tissue, I think her augmentation was exaggerated,” says Dr. Rahban. “They’re too prominent, they’re too round, and they’re too full in the upper area, so they look unnatural,” she says. “That doesn’t mean they don’t look good, just less natural.”

Jaime Pressly “She seems to be better endowed now,” says Beverly Hills, CA plastic surgeon Leslie Stevens, MD. “Before it had a bony sternum area and now it doesn’t.”
For those who may want to reveal the new fullness until motherhood, Dr. Stevens says additional bulk like this is unlikely from pregnancy. “Most women do not gain volume after pregnancy, they suffer from atrophy.”

reality star Audrina Patridge has denied breast augmentation rumours, saying her shape change is due to a bone condition in her chest, but Dr Stevens believes she has had a significant increase in breast volume over the past two years.
“In a breast augmentation you want to consider proportion and size. Women petite and thin [like Audrina] they’re not going to have big, giant breasts of course.”

Nicole Richie appears to have had input to the breast tumor. “They look good and don’t look unnatural,” says Dr. Stevens, who believes the star did indeed undergo breast augmentation.
If you’re considering augmentation and want soft, full-looking breasts, plastic surgeon Douglas L. Hendricks, MD in Newport Beach, CA suggests that “patients avoid tight wraps and bandages after surgery so that from day 1, the implant to have freedom of movement. This, combined with some simple exercises, can go a long way in ensuring you look and feel natural.”

Singer Christina Aguilerawho is rumored to have undergone biaxial endoscopic breast augmentation (where implants are placed through an incision in the armpit to avoid scarring the breast itself) has never publicly commented on the subject of breast surgery.
“The main option for breast augmentation if someone doesn’t want a visible scar is to go through the armpit. However, no one can guarantee what a scar will look like, and the phrase “invisible scar” is an unrealistic concept. Almost all scars on the body are forever visible. They may not be obvious, but you can expect at least a pink line for a few months that will change to a white line forever,” says New York plastic surgeon David Rapaport, MD.

LeAnn Rimes, whose body has been scrutinized by the press since she was a teenager, appears to have undergone an augmentation, says Dr Stevens. “The chest seems to be falling,” she continues.
Why is this happening; “He may have placed the implant on top of the muscle,” notes Dr. Stevens.

Says Dr. Levine By Kelly Rowland The result is another great example of an analog, natural look.
The best way to get a good result is to find a surgeon who is well trained in breast surgery. Finding a board-certified plastic surgeon who has extensive experience with augmentation will most often give the best chance for an excellent result,” says La Jolla, CA plastic surgeon John D. Smoot, MD.

“Love Sofia Vergara results as she looks simply stunning and her implants don’t overwhelm her gorgeous face,” says Vero Beach, Florida plastic surgeon Alan Durkin, MD.

Although a breast surgery procedure has not been confirmed, says Grand Rapids, MI plastic surgeon Bradley Bengtson, MD By Alexandra Daddario Ample bosom has patients asking for implants that give them the same curvaceous shape and size. “It’s all about looking natural and in proportion to your body,” she notes. “THEOur motto is that the best plastic surgery is on patients or people you can’t tell have had it done!“

A great example of breast reduction is Ariel Winter says Pittsburgh, PA plastic surgeon Jeffrey Antimarino, MD, who says he went from a 32F to a 32D. “With any type of breast surgery, the shape and volume of the breast must match the body,” she explains. “In Ariel’s case she has good fullness, projection and the reduction corrected the bulky appearance and excessive fullness at the outer edges of the breast. “Breast reduction can narrow the breasts and give the patient a slimmer appearance with less bulk.”
