Several months ago, some photos posted on Instagram led to a heated office conversation. The images showed a group of very well -preserved social friends who traveled together on a European excursion, beautifully setting dinners and parties, lined with colorful frocks and sparkly accessories. But what caught our eyes was not the jewelry or designer dresses, but rather the uniformly sharp and tight jawlines-jawlines that looked like they belonged to 24-year-old Eastern European models and not to middle-aged peoples, as charming. We knew that these ladies are good enough to know that a) not all of them still have accessible, but also: b) they also did not always have such amazing sharp angles.
And so, the editors of City and countryIt could only be wondering: how does someone sharpen one’s jaw anyway? And why does this trait make such a huge difference?
What is Jawline, anyway?
Sonnets are written for eyes, lips, legs and breasts. There are no, in our knowledge, for Jawlines. And yet, Skims seamlessly sculptured wrapping face promises to “support the jaw” that Kim Kardashian debuted old in a few hours, and even my 13 -year -old son will adopt the controversy over the doctors). “Jawline is one of, if not most, critical components of attractiveness and youth,” says the Los Angeles -based plastic face -based surgeon Babak azizzadeh. “The” grabbed “jaw is now in the dictionary of not only the gen Z, but also the Gen X and the Millennials, and refers conceptually to a clearly defined jaw and super abrupt transition from the face to the throat.”
There is one reason that teen boys and not girls talk about Mewing: “In men, a strong, defined jaw has long been considered a natural index of natural power and high testosterone by certain evolutionary theories,” Azizzadeh continues. “Our brains often read a prominent jaw as a sign of vitality or social trust – and, for some, possible appeal as a partner.”
For women, the goals are slightly different: “While for men, the desired jaw tends to be more intense, wider and more angular, for women, the ideal jaw is typically soft, shaped and slightly narrow, conical, with a joy in the chin to create a face” Apetta reszko. “In both cases, a clearly defined jaw creates a clear separation between the face and the throat, which is a characteristic of the harmony of youth and the face.
Okay so what are your treatment options?
There is, of course, surgery. A facelift and neckline are designed to redefine a jaw besieged by Jowls. But what about jaws that do not suffer from aging but the simple old genetics? “It all depends on why you are not blessed with a large jaw,” says Azizzadeh. “If it is caused by an echo chin/bones, then increasing it with the chin implant or fillers may be an excellent and straight choice, but more often than they do not allow the jaw to be lacking, it is because of what happens to the deeper throat, where there may be excessive accumulation of fat, Running of jaws and peaks that do not allow jaws to be performed.
“There are so many ways to improve a jaw that is too small”, the plastic face surgeon Lesley Rabach He says. “You can use fillers or fat or surgical implants to enhance the jaw and chin and if a jaw is wide and excessively male, you can use botox in the massage to reduce the width of the jaw”, thus creating a slimming effect.
Dermatologist Sherene Idriss He notes that he often adopts a coveted approach to the jaw. “Payments can reshape with a minimum interruption time,” he says. “A laser treatment such as Ulthera can help with tightening over time. Rezko agrees.” Different skin tightening devices that incorporate ultrasound, radiofrequency or tiny RF can affect mild to moderate leisure, ” elastin to stabilize the skin along the jaw without injections.
And what are non -medical choices?
A person aimed at sculpture and tightening can certainly improve things in the short term. Ivan Pol, The creator of “The Beauty Sandwich” a facial treatment by Kim Kardashian says his technique was designed with the aim of carved jawlines and sculptures in the mind. “I started the tendency of the ‘bread’ of the skin with my method that combines multiple levels of radio frequency for a sculpture that tightens and contours to make the face elegant, defined and elevated,” he says. It also constitutes his own Grab to maintain the results.
If you can’t get to the spa, a device at home using the microphone is a great way to get a delicate but immediate elevation and those who use radiofrequency and red LED stimulate collagen and elastin that can help with the skin-doop-downs. Reszko created a kind of all-in-one device for these purposes. “Glow of skorr It uses EMS (electrical stimulation of the muscles) to lift and determine the jaw, while sound vibrations and micro -technology enhance lymphatic drainage – activating swelling and fluid retention that contribute to Jowls, “he says. vitamin C And the epidermal growth factor can help promote skin stability.
What should you be cautious?
“A great misconception is that more product or more invasive treatment always means better results. This is not true,” says Idriss. “Sometimes it is less. And the subtlety wins in the Jawline project.” Indeed, Reszko warns not to pursue the “overwhelmed” Instagram Jawlines “without balance or proportionality. Even the best jaw can be hidden from loose skin, excessive fat or bad posture. ”
As always, he does a lot of care before taking extreme measures. “Massage reduction surgery is something that a patient should be warned as a first -line treatment for an excessive male jaw, either in a man or a woman,” Rabach says, “because this is a permanent solution that cannot be reversed and can cause significant asymmetry.”
And what of this new Skims product is causing such a ruckus that Even Hannibal Lector weighed? “A face bra is essentially a compression deterioration for the face. It can help with temporary control of edema after surgery or certain treatments, which is why surgeons sometimes recommend similar garments in the early treatment period,” says the plastic surgeon of the face. “But in terms of the reform of the face or lifting the long -term jaw?
How to choose who to see
“It is important for a professional to use a gradual approach from non -invasive to invasive procedures to train the patient on what the possible options are,” Rabach says. Also, you always want someone with these four things, Azizzadeh points out: “Reputation, technical skills, aesthetic eye (look before and after!) And Security.” Reszko also emphasizes the utility of the photos before and after: “Ideally show results that look sophisticated, not too much, you also want to avoid clinics that push off aggressive packages or abrupt discounts, they may indicate hurried or subconscious tasks.”
“Look for someone who understands facial anatomy,” Idriss summarizes. “Not only someone who can inject, but someone who thinks of balance and ratio. You want a provider that adapts the treatment, not just a jaw filling approach.” Ends with a tip I have always found very useful: “Look at the faces of workers working in practice.”
