Thanks to Instagram’s wonders, ‘The Cloud’ and Facebook, I remind me of how wonderful life was back when I had collagen.
And how (relatively) I looked great when I had collagen: banks and banks of materials that give to the young, happy little face that undoubtedly youth glow.
Thanks to two decades of sunbathing (and some sun loungers), this collagen has been exhausted faster than you can say “coloring” – which I also had a lot.
And this despite the recent facelift which, although undoubtedly brilliantly for the successful interruption of the disintegration of aging, did not deal with the true texture or quality of my skin.
Enough was enough.
So, like all the good millenniums, I got to Dr. Google … and immediately lasted for a CO2 laser, a treatment popular with Celebs like Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Aniston and Gwyneth Paltrow.
In Los Angeles, the house of good skin care, facelifts and Facelifts CO2 are synonymous – surgeons regularly keep their clients for laser treatments as part of the post -care package, such as possible transformation.
Some of the results seemed mildly scary – people with peeled faces, scabies stumbling on pus and skin.
I do not want to leave my skin to fate, or the hands of a dentist who was converted into a botoxer, reservation at the Exclusive Harley Street in London.
The leader of the Alice Henshaw Clinic – who is really working with the surgeon who made my face, Dr. Paul Tulley on Harley Street in London – had contacted me reading for my op. (Yes, tweakments are not my first Rodeo).
It is a high -rated aesthetic in many celebs and a whole range of influences, who regularly live in Instagram from her clinic.
Walking to the Uber-Plush clinic-more soho’s soho farm than an aesthetic practice (though both serve small bites)-welcomed Stevie, an aesthetic nurse who would make me.
After being disappointed for 30 minutes with anesthetic cream – just the pain would be unacceptable without it – passes through my skin concerns.
“This is really one of the best treatments out there,” Stevie assures me.
“It is amazing for acne scars, sun damage and for enhancing collagen production to give the skin a plumper, youthful shine. You will really see a difference.
“It is an abstract laser that causes controlled damage to the upper layers of the skin, stimulating the natural skin healing process and helping to produce new collagen.
“We will go for a fairly aggressive environment today to maximize results.”
Next thing I know I’m horizontal, with a machine blowing up a hot light burst on my skin. Seconds later, there is a burning burning.
“What is this smell?” I ask, my thoughts are briefly turning to what I will have for dinner.
“Oh yes, this is your skin,” Stevie replies, occasionally, as I inhale a bacon chew.
Since I never had a laser treatment, I really don’t know what to expect.
The next day I look like I swallowed a football and my face is red beetroot
It feels that a rubber band is pulled stretched and then broke on my face, hard and repeatedly.
It’s okay on my forehead but it really hurts on my upper lip. My eyes are starting to water and try – and I fail – look authoritative as Cameraman Ben Blithely zoom in my red face.
The sensitive area of the neck as well as smarts a little – a solid 7.2/10 for pain (10 is ‘give me a weapon now’, 0 is one beautiful Massage at Soho Farmhouse) – but Stevie counts all the time, reassures me that I do “big”.
(All I do is lying down, but it’s sweet and I’m determined not to swear.)
“FA *** !!!” I shout right away as it goes under my eyes.
That is why I am given two lenses in the eye to prevent any radiation from passing. Ben is also given dark glasses to stop any “bounce” radiation.
‘Not for the lightweight”
Fortunately, within 20 minutes, it’s over.
I am red, but it will not scare young children in the tube house.
Alice packs me with an aftercare-pack-one ice package, its own range of 100dha hyaluronic acid hyaluronic acid, a luxurious moisturizing cream and some bio-cellulose facial skincycles to help hydrate.
They tell me to avoid any sunshine for the next Two weeks, which are useful for starting spring burning the next day.
I look insane walking by walking the dog in the neck of polo, sunglasses and a visor lasso – the only hat I could find – in the burning sun.
The next day I look like I swallowed a football and my face is a red beetroot.
I canceled lunch with friends.
Fortunately, my skin does not inflate and there are no signs of pus. (ALEXANDRA CRANE CO2 experience of Google Love Island if you don’t eat.)
From here, redness begins to fade and I am simply staying with strange “grids” on my face. My skin feels like sandpaper.
But, day by day, I start to see results.
After three weeks, people begin to congratulate me on my “glow”
A week later, my coloring is significantly reduced – with the full results observed in 12 weeks – and my skin looks so softer, plumper and, as it used to, in my memories on the iPad about 2017.
There are fewer thin lines around my eyes and I’m excited.
After three weeks, people begin to congratulate me on my “glow” and even escapeing to wear no makeup at work. It’s a joy.
This non -invasive treatment, which costs £ 2,000, is not for light. But, well, it works.
