Two people in India died after a dentist to perform hair transplant surgeries on them, supposedly without prior training or qualifications.
Vinit Kumar Dubey, 37 years old, and Mayank Katiyar, 32, both died within 48 hours of surgery performed by Dr Anushka Tiwari in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.
Tiwari was “delivered” to a local court on Monday and was arrested under suspicion of homicide after avoiding raids in various states for weeks, local media reports.
Dubey, an engineer and father of the two, attended Tiwari’s private clinic, named Empire on March 13, before dying two days later in the hospital with a brain infection.
His wife, Jaya Tripathi, filed a complaint shortly afterwards, noting that her husband had an ugly swollen face and was pain before his death.
“His face was so swollen, it looked like a balloon. His eyes were swollen. I could not recognize him, ”she said.
“He had just finished his doctorate and received a job offer from a leading American business. He wanted to surprise me with his new appearance.
But he says the police initially failed to act in the complaint for almost two months.
It was discovered this month that a second victim, Katiyar, had died in similar circumstances in November, and again dies the day after his process with Tiwari.
His mother said her son died in her arms the day after surgery.

Authorities tried to arrest Tiwari for weeks, raiding multiple states in an attempt to find it.
Her mobile position was found in Rohtak and Panipat, but remained detectable until she was delivered to court this week.
He initially said that he had not performed surgery and accused another doctor, per India today.
But a case of homicide fault has now been registered for both deaths, based on family complaints.
“There are serious allegations against Anushka Tiwari, a dentist who has had surgery outside her professional sector,” said state lawyer Dilip Singh.
“He has been delivered to court today and has been sent to prison.”
In her complaint, Tripathi claimed that she had tried in vain to reach the dentist as her husband’s situation worsened on March 14.
“I called Dr Anushka Tiwari again on the same night around 11 and admitted that he had been performing without testing,” he told NDTV.
An initial study of Dubey’s case by the health authorities revealed significant medical negligence, a committee found.
They revealed that the procedure was performed despite the patient being diabetic and hypertensive.
Doctors later stated that he had developed a bacterial infection of the brain, which led to encephalopathy and death.
Mayank, also an engineer, died on November 19 after surgery the day before. His family had approached the police with similar concerns.
He came home at 5 pm, but he was shouting with pain until midnight. His face swelled and darkened: “His mother, Pramodini Katiyar, he said News18.

She said Tiwari was blocking her number and became inaccessible after her son died.
“I want to be arrested – otherwise, he will take someone else’s son tomorrow,” he said.

The family filed a complaint on May 13th.
Tiwari appears on YouTube talking about hair care as a “dermatologist”.
Her clinic is registered in the name of her husband, Dr. Saurabh.
Researchers are now considering the qualifications of other staff members.
