A hair transplant clinic in the Indian capital has been ordered to pay more than £ 5,000 to an unhappy customer who claimed that he did not find even a “one hundred improvement” despite spending more than £ 4,000 on the process.
Vivek Kumar approached the DHI Asian Roots in New Delhi before his wedding, enticed by what the consumer forum described as “100 % results” and “natural appearance” as “100 % results”. Submitted to three sessions of the hair transplant process between 2011 and 2012.
According to the order issued in May this year, Kumar followed instructions after the processing and waited for the results, but “there was no one hundred improvement”. He then filed a complaint before the Delhi consumer disputes in December 2013.
The Commission held the clinical responsible for deficiency and unfair commercial practices and stated that Mr Kumar had the right to compensate for “physical and mental harassment he suffered”.
In addition, the clinic “transplants the hairs to cover the Falaki area and created another bald area with the harvest of the donor area”.
The table directs DHI’s Asian roots to refund the full cost of treatment of 500,000 (£ 4,289), to pay ₹ 100,000 (£ 857) to compensation for mental harassment and additional ₹ 30,000 (£ 257) to cover differences.
The Commission also stated that the clinic “failed to produce any documents indicating authorization or permission to perform modern hair implantation scientific procedures” and “did not have the government’s approval for the involvement of doctors” for such procedures.
“The procedure was held in an unfair medical commercial practice, performed without the required licenses or specialized expertise and appeared exclusively with financial benefit,” the mandate said.

To a statement to IndependentDHI Asian Roots said she would appeal to question the command.
“This customer underwent two procedures, one each in 2011 and 2012.
“With all the respect for the Hon’ble forum, we want to clarify that these allegations were neither part of the complaint nor supported by any evidence and have nothing to do with the facts,” the clinic added, referring to Mr Kumar’s allegations that his treatment is executed.
“In fact, the series itself recognizes that the customer was satisfied with the results of the first process and so it came for the second time.
