In an attempt to prove the power of Botox, this dedicated doctor injected one side of her face.
Dr. Bita Farrell is a big fan of the prescription botulinum toxin medication and the cosmetic benefits it can offer her clients.
To show how a few strategically placed injections can drastically change a person’s appearance, she said goodbye to her facial symmetry for a short period of time.
Dr. Farrell, who is a world-renowned aesthetic doctor based in California, volunteered to be a “lab rat” for the experiment.
It’s important to note that she’s a qualified professional with over two decades of experience in this field – so don’t get any ideas about trying this at home, guys.

The doctor explained that she decided to put her 141,000 Instagram followers through the process “for the sake of science and education.”
To show what kind of difference Botox can make, she injected the right side of her face with the neurotoxic protein that temporarily paralyzes muscles.
It blocks the signals sent by the nerves to the muscles so that they can no longer contract and this gives the appearance of smoother and younger looking skin.
Dr Farrell explained that she had specifically targeted the DAO muscle, which pulls the corners of the mouth, and the platysma muscle, which contributes to facial expressions and mouth movements.
A fortnight after treating half her face, the Center for Natural Aesthetics founder shared a progress update to show the impact the injections had.

The results spoke for themselves (Instagram/@drbitafarrell)
At clip originally shared in June 2024, Dr. Farrell explained: “Two weeks later, I present my results as I try to contract my lower face muscles.
“You can see that latissimus dorsi on it [left] The rib actually contracts and pulls my jaw down, and so does my DAO, pulling the corner of my mouth down,” Dr. Farrell said.
Referring to her right side, which she had botoxed a fortnight earlier, she added: ‘I’m really trying to pull that side!’
Describing the difference she could see on the right side of her face, Dr. Farrell continued: “The cheek goes up a little bit higher, that nasolabial fold looks softer and so does my puppet shadow on that side.”
She offered more details on how the popular cosmetic treatment works in the post’s caption.
“The facial muscles either pull up or down,” explained Dr. Farrell. “When the muscles that pull the lower face down (slatus and DAO) are injected and relaxed with a Neuromodulator like Botox, the muscle that pulls the mid face up (zygomatic or cheek muscles) dominates and pulls the face up!
“This can help reduce the appearance of marionette lines, furrows, frown lines (rbf or sad face) and nasolabial folds. It also lifts the neck and can sharpen the jawline and make the cheeks look a little fuller and lifted.”
“The results last an average of 3-4 months and any of the FDA-approved Neuromodulators can be used,” he said, before joking: “Now, I better go inject the other side to smooth things out!”
Dr. Farrell also injected Botox on one side of her upper lip to demonstrate how Botox works in that area. Give this woman a raise!
