Cowboy cosmetologists who leave their clients at risk of permanent scars or even death are aimed at a new government repression.
According to the new measures, procedures such as non -surgical or “wet” Brazilian lifts should only be performed by specialists working in places registered with the Care Quality Committee (CQC).
According to the Ministry of Health, these types of invasive treatments have been carried out by unknown people in unsafe sites such as houses and hotels.
Currently, CQC regulates only cosmetic treatments that include surgeries such as liposuction, facelifts or cavities.
The new supervision will come into force for lower risk processes, such as botox, facial filling skin and lip fillings within a new licensing system run by local authorities.
Health Minister Karin Smyth said: “The cosmetics industry has been infected by a wild west by practitioners and procedures.

“There are countless stories of cosmetics horror cowboys that cause serious, destructive damage.”
He added: “This is not about stopping from taking therapies – it is the prevention of ruthless operators to exploit people at the expense of their safety and keep people safe.
“We give them peace and reducing the costs for NHS to determine the abused procedures.”
Last September, 34 -year -old Alice Webb died in a Gloucestershire hospital after allegedly undergoing a Brazilian lift surgery.
Treatment involves injection of the skin filler, often made of hyaluronic acid, into the buttocks.
Two people were subsequently arrested under suspicion of homicide in relation to Alice’s death, before being released with a guarantee.
A campaign started by the Register Save Face website and is backed by the family of mom of five who requested the “Law of Alice”, which would make it illegal for anyone other than a registered plastic surgeon at the specialist GMC to perform the treatment.
Katrina Marshall, who suffered from extreme pain and infections after cosmetic surgery on the breasts, stomachs and buttocks in Turkey, reacted to the changes: “If it means that no one goes through what I went through, then it is a bonus.”
He added: “It’s difficult, because it doesn’t matter how many times people say people do not, they will do it anyway.
“I think for the United Kingdom, he just has to be on the ball with him.”
The new restrictions are also scheduled for high -risk cosmetic processes under 18 years, unless they have been approved by a health care professional.
British CEO of British beauty, Millie Kendall, said: “I am please to hear the government’s commitment to regulate and license the aesthetic sector after its consultation.
“The Council is dedicated to ensuring that people can safely deal with beauty. People should be able to look and feel as they want without the threat of something that goes wrong. ”
However, the Royal College of Surgeons has questioned whether the new moves are reaching far enough to protect patients.
Tim Mitchell, the president of the organization, said the announcement was “encouraging” and “an important first step forward”.
He continued: “However, we believe that this process, along with any intervention designed to increase the buttock, breast or genitals, should only be performed by a certified surgeon of cosmetic surgery.
“Medical supervision is essential for the prevention of serious complications and the protection of individuals from constant physical and psychological damage and, at worst, death.
“These plans could help improve the regulation of lower risk surgery, but the government must also urgently improve the arrangement of surgery-securing that only surgeons certified by the Cosmetics Committee can perform.”
