Oral Biolife (OBL), a biotechnology company that is currently developing a first dental treatment for both humans and pets, has announced a new development data to support the flagship product: AMBRILUX DENTAL GEL.1 Recent studies have shown that the product is effective in promoting bone regeneration in tooth blisters in 3 beagles caused by periodontal disease (PD).1
“This proof of the idea marks an important milestone on our journey, reinforces our confidence that Ambrilux Dental Gel has the potential to revolutionize the way dental care is provided, offering a less invasive and more affordable choice for patients,” said Bill Breitenbach.1
In the study, x -rays were taken at 28 days after the first application of the product and 29 days after the second application. The results of the x -rays showed that all 3 dogs undergoing product treatment showed an increase in bone regeneration both after the treatment of the first and second months.1 Meanwhile, only 1 in 3 control animals have shown bone detectable growth. In addition, no side effects or other safety risks were observed during the study.1
In July 2024, Oral Biolife announced that they had formed a strategic partnership with a “leading world leader in animal health” to develop a product aimed at revolutionizing the way PD is treated in pets.2
“OBL uses advanced biotechnology to create a revolutionary approach to fight and treatment [PD]which will enhance the overall well -being and animal health, “Breitenbach said of a July press release.2 “This partnership is an important step forward to open a gateway to veterinarians to access a PD treatment solution, while at the same time spreading the realization of oral health in animals.”
It is the unfortunate truth that most dogs – 80 to 90% over 2 years old – have some component of periodontal disease.3 These numbers are even worse in smaller dogs and the incidence increases with age.3 Dogs with periodontal disease will probably show signs of pain with the sole or rubbing in their mouths, saliva, reduced appetite or other changes in eating habits, blood or odor from the mouth, along with behavioral changes.3 For the best opportunity to prevent periodontal disease, regular veterinary dental cleansing are recommended, in addition to proper dental care at home.3
“In OBL our mission has always been to find a way to provide Americans access to non -invasive dental care,” said Stella Vnook, president of Oral Biolife.1 “We are pleased with these very promising results and we are excited to continue our research to further establish the safety and effectiveness of the Ambrilux dental gel.”
