The Ministry of Social Security has recently ordered an emergency suppression after medical complications by illegal breast enlargement surgeries in Pyongyang began to increase.
“Medical complications from cosmetic surgeries by private professionals have increased as a demand among women for breast growth procedures,” a daily NK source in Pyongyang said recently. “The Ministry of Social Security issued an emergency suppression order at the Pyongyang branch on the morning of July 13.”
According to the source, the ministry’s order criticized women for “participating in all kinds of decadent behavior” under the bourgeoisie on the socialist system. While the authorities had previously overlooked women to have a double eyelashes or eyebrow tattoo surgery, the class reported that “thorough rotten capitalist acts” such as breast enlargements were now common.
Breast increases have grown modern among women in the 1920s and 30s looking for more intense figures, especially those in Pyongyang’s central neighborhoods, such as Jung and Potonggang areas, the source said.
Demand for such surgeries has increased mainly during the summer holiday season, driven by women who want to show their details in swimming costumes.
Underground procedures lead to arrests
However, as authorities consider breast aid non-social behavior, women cannot receive them in official medical institutions.
As a result, surgeons perform secretly illegal procedures in their homes using silicone imported from China. This creates serious problems, as such processes have high risks of complications such as infections.
A woman in her 30s in Potonggang has suffered serious complications after receiving two breast growth procedures earlier this month. The private doctor who carried out the illegal procedures was eventually arrested by the Regional Police.
The research revealed that the doctor had turned into illegal breast increases for money, despite being specialized by mouth to hospital rather than surgical specialist.
Taking seriously the increasing number of illegal increases in breast and medical complications, the Ministry of Social Security issued the emergency mandate. Pyongyang police organized strike groups to conduct intensive stores by the end of September, with the aim of “eliminating non-social behavior”.
Police in the city have issued detailed repression instructions. First, officers will penetrate places that perform illegal medical procedures by putting breast increases as women. Secondly, officers will patrol with the heads of the neighborhood watch unit, stop women with enlarged breasts and transfer them to police stations or hospitals for questioning and physical examinations.
“The strike groups in political clothing are already active in the central areas of Pyongyang, where they have begun to repression,” the source said. “Women and private doctors could deal with forced labor or other penalties for participating in non -socialist behavior.”
