More cases of transition associated with Botox in a Med Spa in Milton, Massachusetts, were reported by the State Ministry of Public Health this weekend, which is annoying and could easily be avoided, according to a long -term registered nurse and local owner.
There are 10 suspicious cases now under investigation in relation to Rodrigo Beauty, located on Granite 464 in Milton.
It has been the discussion of the field of medical aesthetics in recent days.
Reaction from local owner Med Spa
A Med Spa owner not linked to this developing cluster tells NBC10 Boston that it is upset and frustrated after listening to this growing situation, adding that no customer should be put in this position.
“I feel terrible for them,” said Kim Ramos, owner of Revital Med Spa in Leominster.
Ramos even says some of its customers called questions as expected. He also called the company from which he buys botox and assured her that it was not the product in question.
Ramos wants all the people who take Botox either for medical or cosmetic purposes to know that Botox is one of the many neuro -supporters. At the moment, the health section has not specified which type of Rodrigo Beauty used.
“There must be a stronger message from the official point of view. I think we know that we know this is unfortunate, but we know that this is not an issue associated with Botox, even though it is put as Botox”
Ramos says it is unheard of for injectors to buy black market products as they are cheap. He has still taken phone calls and reported them. After all, these products endanger patients.
“All this could be avoided by what is so annoying in aesthetic profession. We are working very hard.”
Ramos encourages everyone to do their job and make sure that their injecting is licensed and has done so long. It also says that it is important to ask which product it is used and why.
Who is affected? What should they do?
Anyone who received Botox injections into the Rodrigo Beauty between May 1 and June 4 of this year, is called upon to contact the Massachusetts Ministry of Public Health at 617-983-6800 or their local Health Council immediately, even if they do not present symptoms at present.
Anyone who had Botox injections in this position and has symptoms should go to the nearest emergency. Timely recognition and treatment can significantly improve the results, say health officials.
How do you get botulism from Botox?
The process for Botox cosmetics injections involves the injection of toxin, created by bacteria, into the skin to normalize wrinkles. (Can also be used to treat medical conditions, such as migraines.)
Infusion too much from Botulinum toxin can cause what is known as medical Botulism, Disease Control and Prevention Centers say. It is one of the five ways to obtain the disease, which can cause paralysis or death.
What are the symptoms of the sausage?
Patients and health care providers should be alert for symptoms such as double or blurred vision, eyelashes, speech, difficulty swallowing and difficulty breathing after Botox injections.
These symptoms may be followed by a declining, symmetrical weakness of muscles that develop more than hours in days.
Is Botox safe?
The Massachusetts Ministry of Public Health is noted on Thursday that Botox is usually safe when given by trained professionals, but there are conditions that increase the risk, including dosage variation, products not approved by FDA and inappropriate technique.
It was not immediately clear whether the alleged cases included licensed Botox injections, but state health employees said on Saturday that they continue to emphasize the importance of searching for cosmetic procedures only by authorized professionals in accredited medical environments.
Has anyone died?
Botulism is a rare but serious illness that can be fatal.
In its advice, the Ministry of Public Health of Massachusetts did not share specific details on the ten cases being investigated, including if anyone had died.
