Lily Allen has revealed she found a lump in her breast following her breast augmentation earlier this year, but has assured fans it’s not dangerous.
In March, the 40-year-old Smile producer revealed she’d had an “amazing” job on her breasts in the past month and was having fun buying new “fancy underwear” to show them off.
The Pillowman star explained at the time that she was still waiting for them to “fall out”, which happens a few months after surgery, leaving them feeling “like normal boobs”.
In a new interview with The Perfect Magazinewhen asked about how she’s feeling months after her breast work, Lily said: ‘Okay, although I have a huge lump in my right breast.
“I think it must be a cyst, yes. It’s not dangerous. I went for a mammogram and ultrasound in New York last week and it came back fine.’
Explaining her decision to go under the knife, the Not Fair hitmaker, who recently dropped Miss Me? podcast with best friend Miquita Oliver, said she made the move after losing weight.
“I liked it. No really, you know what it was? It was that I became very, very thin when I was feeling at my lowest in the last year or so,” she said.
“Or more, actually. And I knew I had to gain weight. And I’ve always been bottom heavy so I was afraid that if I gained weight, my body would feel out of proportion. And so I felt that, why not give myself an exit clause? Make it feel more enticing,” he explained.

Elsewhere in the interview, Lily spoke about the inspiration behind her new album, West End Girl, which is her first album in seven years, out on Friday 24 October.
Lily agreed with the interviewer that West End Girl – which is a mix of fiction and autobiography – is a record about “a broken marriage and a series of betrayals that left the singer feeling really devastated”.
It comes after Lily split from Stranger Things star David Harbour, 50, after four years of marriage. She is also mum to Marnie, 12, and Ethel, 13, with her first husband Sam Cooper.
Speaking about the dating scene now, Lily confessed: ‘It’s bitterly disappointing. There is an element of humiliation and shame around it.
“People don’t portray women my age as desirable. And it’s just like climbing a mountain.’
The singer admitted that having a partner won’t be “the answer to all my problems,” but it’s an “easier” route than doing all the emotional work alone.
This comes after Lily said British Vogue about her “feelings of hopelessness” after the breakup.
“The last time I felt like this, drugs and alcohol were my outlet, so it was exhausting to sit with them [feelings] and not use them,” thought Lily, who has been sober since 2019.
In January, Allen checked into a trauma care facility, where she spent several weeks dealing with what she called “emotional turmoil” through therapy.
Explaining her decision to seek help, she said: “I wanted to die. I’ve been to these places before against my will and I feel like that’s progress in itself. That’s power. I knew the things I was feeling were too extreme for me to handle, and I was like, “I need some time away.”
Allen also revealed that she has had ongoing problems with eating, admitting that they “got really, really, really bad” amid the breakdown of her marriage.
Despite the pain of the breakup, the singer and podcast host reflected fondly on her time with Harbour.
“There were a lot of good things about it,” he said. “My children had an amazing experience living in America for five years and I have a lot of compassion for my ex-husband. I think we all suffer.’
Now, Allen says she’s in a much better place. “Really not in the same place I was when I was writing [these] songs,” he said. “I’ve come a long way. I feel okay, actually.
Speaking about the contents of her album, Lily cautioned that the content was not “gospel” on what happened between her and David, but does explore some of her experiences in marriage.
