Rap superstar Kodak Black was arrested and taken into federal custody in Miami after allegedly violating his probation, documents show.
Records showed Black, whose real name is Bill Kapri, was being held at the Miami Federal Detention Center on Saturday after being released on bond earlier this month following a arrest in South Florida for possession of cocaine and other charges.
The Dec. 7 arrest occurred in Plantation after an officer spotted a black Bentley SUV parked in the roadway in the 600 block of Northwest 47th Terrace, according to an arrest report.
The officer approached the SUV and found the rapper sleeping in the driver’s seat, noting that “a strong odor of burning cannabis” was coming from the vehicle, according to the report.
The officer opened the SUV door and closed it. Inside was a cup in the door that smelled of alcohol, as well as “marijuana wrapper and suspicious marijuana residue” in the center console, according to the report.
The officer approached and noticed Black’s mouth was “full of white powder,” according to the report.
The substance later tested positive for cocaine, according to the report. Black also had a clear plastic bag in his pocket that was also tested, according to the report.
NBC6 reached out to the rapper’s attorney, but we have yet to receive a response.
The latest arrest is the latest for the 26-year-old rapper who has found himself behind bars multiple times in South Florida in recent years.
Blacks were previously arrested for trespassing on New Year’s Day 2022 in Pompano Beach.
In perhaps his most infamous incident, Black was sentenced to a three-year federal prison sentence for falsifying documents used to purchase guns at a Miami gun store, commuted by the president. Donald Trump on his last day in office in 2020. He had served about half his sentence.
