John Cena says hair transplantation “completely changed” his life

John Cena, 48, fights with hair loss for years, but this cosmetic process gave him his confidence back.

In an interview with people published on Wednesday, Price talked about his retirement from WWE and the realities of aging, including his experience with hair loss.

“As I was trying to hide my hair loss, the audience brought it to light,” he told people. “I saw their signs that said” the bald John Cena. ”

WWE’s 17 -year -old world champion said public control over his appearance “pushed him” to find ways to deal with hair loss.

“I now have a routine: Red Light treatment, minoxidil, vitamins, shampoo, air conditioner-and I also got hair transplant last November,” Cena said. “I hate the fact that if there was not so much shame around it, I would do it 10 years ago.”

The wrestler said he thought he was “alone” in his struggle, but eventually realized how common hair loss was between men.

The process was simple, Price said: “They do nothing but move your hair, one by one, from one area to another.”

He added that it is not embarrassed to talk about the experience of hair transplantation.

“If someone will sweat me about it, I don’t think there is any shame in it,” Price said. “It completely changes the course of my life.”

As he looks beyond the struggle, he believes that a more complete hairline can help him land a wider range of roles.

“A different hairstyle can detect a place that can get me more work, do the thing I like to do,” he added.

A Price spokesman did not immediately respond to a request for comments sent by Business Insider outside the regular hours.

Male pattern baldness or androgenetic alopecia represents more than 95% of hair loss in men, per data from the American Hair Loss Association, a non -profit organization. About 25% of men with male baldness begin to lose hair before the age of 21.

There are two FDA -approved drugs for male bald pattern, while other treatment options include laser therapy, platelet -rich, and hair transplants.

In recent years, Turkey has made a name for itself as a destination for hair transplantation. About a million people traveled to Turkey for hair transplants in 2022, the head of the Turkish Health Tourism Union told the local Anadolu News Agency.

There has also been a tendency for white collar men in the US that spend thousands on plastic surgery, fillers and other self-care routines to look good, especially at work.

Data from the report by the US Society of Plastic Surgeons 2023 showed that men represented 6% of cosmetic procedures as a whole. In 2023, facelifts among men increased by 17%, nose reform increased by 10%and eyelid surgery increased by 9%compared to the previous year.
