Gemma suspects that the urine test before surgery has failed to detect its pregnancy due to false negative, possibly caused by low levels of human chorionic gonadrophin (HCG) – a hormone produced during pregnancy and pregnancy.
After what she described as “normal” pregnancy, her son, whom Gemma prefers not to name, arrived on May 2, 2025, weighing 7lbs 10oz.
Gemma, a nurse from the Swansea of Wales, who has since been separated from the child’s father, explained: “I was not in contraception for three years.

Gemma was already a mother in three children from a previous relationship and did not intend to have other young people.
She ended her five -year nursing course in August 2024 and chose to reward herself with a belly that had put money aside to confront the “saggy pockets” on her belly.

Gemma said: “I got 10 other supermarket pregnancy tests – all confirmed that I was pregnant.
“I kept looking at the tests with disbelief.”
A scan the next day revealed that she was 21 weeks pregnant.
It is suspected that the minimum HCG levels found in her blood from the clinic before surgery meant that pregnancy was not detected.
Although she considered the finish, Gemma chose to continue with pregnancy, who was naturally born on May 2, 2025 in a baby weighing 7lbs 10oz at Singleton Hospital.
Previously one size 16, Gemma now fits 12 in size.
Reflecting on the facts, Gemma said, “Looking back, I can’t believe it.
