Experts address Tom Brady’s ‘Gaunt’ as fans suspect ‘elevated’ appearance
Examining the soccer icon’s facial features, Dr. Corey Maas, plastic surgeon and owner of The Maas Clinic in San Francisco, shared with the publication, “This is the classic face of someone who participates in a very high-intensity aerobic exercise program.” The doctor added: “It doesn’t have to be any kind of surgery. In fact, it would be unlikely, because most people don’t want that modest look.”
However, Dr Tijion Esho, cosmetic surgeon and founder of UK-based Cultskin disagreed. Esho said Brady, 47, looks more “stretched and lifted” than ever. He explained: “This is usually seen after a full face lift that is still in the healing process.” A facelift or wrinkleectomy involves tightening and lifting the skin on both sides of the face to reduce sagging. In a traditional procedure, the skin is separated from the underlying tissues, the muscles are tightened and any excess skin is removed.

Esho suggested that if the father of three had undergone a facelift, it probably happened towards the end of last year. “In the early stages [of recovery]the skin looks very tight and as the skin is maintained, the tension decreases, which is usually seen in the first two to three months,” explained the expert.
Dr. Norman Rowe, a New Jersey-based plastic surgeon at Rowe Plastic Surgery, advised The Daily Mail that the Super Bowl champion is showing clear signs of a facelift, including what may be an incision scar near his ear. He specifically believes that Brady underwent a SMAS facelift, a procedure that involves making incisions along the hairline, behind the ears and under the chin to adjust the underlying connective tissue.

“That ear looks like it’s been operated on,” Rowe shared. He continued: “When you do a SMAS facelift, sometimes it gives a tug at the corners of the mouth and [patients] get what we call the windswept look. In some photos, boy, it looked like he had it.” However, the doctor dismissed the idea that Brady’s possible facelift was recent, citing the absence of swelling and noticeable scarring. He suggested the procedure was likely at least half a year ago.
Esho also credited Brady’s “shiny” and shiny complexion, attributing it to possible botox and laser procedures. Botox involves injecting a toxin to immobilize the muscles under the skin, which prevents movement and leads to deeper wrinkles. Esho added: “That would explain why his skin looks smooth, with fewer expression lines.” Dr. Diana Ponsky, an Ohio-based plastic surgeon, agreed that Brady may have chosen to undergo Botox treatments.

“It looks like his lips have been altered. He has a stretched smile and his lower lip curls more,” she explained. He said it looks like she may have received Botox injections into the depressor anguli oris (DAO) muscles, which run from the lower jaw to the corners of the mouth.
Dr. David Shokrian, a plastic surgeon based at Millennial Plastic Surgery in New York, also dished on The Daily Mail that Brady’s incredibly “smooth” forehead suggests typical “botox use.” Although other experts agree that Brady shows signs of Botox injections, a recent facelift and possibly fillers, he has not addressed these rumors publicly.
