- Mbau has had several cosmetic procedures, including skin bleaching.
Khanyi Mbau has gone under the knife again, this time to have work done on her face to give it more structure and firmness.
Never one to bite her tongue about how much work she’s had on her body, the actress said she was tired of Botox and fillers every three months and was looking for a permanent solution.
Mbau took to her Instagram account on Wednesday night to share a video of the procedure she had done, which is called blepharoplasty.
According to the Cleveland Clinicthe procedure reduces tightness from the lower eyelids and removes excess skin from the upper eyelids. As the skin ages, it gradually loses its elasticity.
“Now we’re baking and we bought a new face. I know, I know. Before we all lose it, it’s still very fresh and very firm. It’ll take a few weeks to cook.”
“I had blepharoplasty reducing the heavy skin on my eyelids and a subnasal lip lift adding shape to my lips. Goodbye fillers, botox and threads,” she captioned the viral video.

Mbau said she couldn’t wait to see the final results: “It’s going to get worse before it gets better. Big shout out to Mert, my personal nurse. You made this experience so comfortable. I’m living in this face bra now. Wait for it to bake.”
Mbau has many “jobs” on her body. In 2017 it opened for her liposuction and shared a video of herself taking her fans into the operating room during a cosmetic procedure.
“I went under the knife to get ready over the summer to look my best for next season and all the shows I’ll be doing over the summer,” she said in the video clip.
She saw Dr. Mark Steinmann (who has worked on her in the past) for breast revision and liposuction.
In 2019, sat down for an interview with Thembekile Mrototto on eNCA to discuss skin whitening.
She admitted that 90% of her skin was ‘cosmetic’, saying she preferred it because she used less make-up and therefore required less ‘maintenance’.
Cosmetic surgery is no longer taboo in Celebville. Nobody goes under the knife in secret like they used to. A-listers let their fans watch as they transform their bodies with plastic surgery.
Reality star Jojo Robinson opened up about the extent of her plastic surgery in an interview with East Coast Radio’s Carol Ofori, revealing that the surgeries cost her more than R800,000.
Speaking to Ofori about her cosmetic surgery procedures, Robinson said she had undergone “probably 20-plus” procedures in total.
“I was very open on my Insta [and] my socials for everything I’ve done because I feel like a lot of women find it embarrassing, in a way,” she said.
“Just like people don’t want to know they’ve had this procedure, and for me, I think if there’s something available that we can do that can make you feel better, then go for it. You don’t have to be for anyone else, it can be for yourself.”
