There is one reason that blepharoplasty has become quietly the number one demanded person in the world – it works. This delicate eyelid surgery can remove years from the face, illuminate a tired look and save the fall or swelling in ways that no time can fit.
“Eyelah surgery is not just about removing the skin or fat. It is an eye reform in a way that looks natural and not surgical,” says Boca Raton, Fl Oculoplastic Surgeon Steven Fagien, MD. “The key to the excellent results is the refinement and understanding of the complex anatomy of the eyelash area.”
What is blepharoplasty?
Upper eyelids aim to relax or the upper eyelids with hoods, which can sometimes hurt vision or make the eyes look smaller. Lower blepharoplasty deals with swelling or “bags” under the eyes caused by fat pillows or skin looseness. In some cases, both are executed together for complete rejuvenation.
“In upper eyelid surgery, removing too much skin or fat can make someone look hollow or surprised,” says Dr. Fagien. “With the lower lids, the risk is to pull the lid or create a hollow look. You must maintain support and harmony with the rest of the face.”
Scottsdale, the plastic facial surgeon AZ Kelly Bomer, MD, says the process is proceeding as well. “The blepharoplasty has been a focus of my own for years and the matching of platelet -rich surgery (PRF) has greatly improved the healing process.
Who gets eyelid?
“We are seeing a significant increase in blepharoplasty patients, especially men who want to stay in the workforce more and look younger and less tired,” says Woodbury, Ny Oculoplastic Surgeon David Schlessinger, MD. “There was also a jump to younger patients who come in who do not like the appearance of hooded eyes or bags under the eyes.
How is the recovery?
Most patients have mild swelling and bruising for a few days. The stitches come out in a week and makeup can usually be worn a little later. The break time usually takes about 7-10 days and the final results continue to improve for several weeks.
