Daidys Pena Garces, 50 years old, underwent Brazilian lifting in Miami, Florida and weeks later suffered a pulmonary embolism that caused severe brain damage
A woman is left unable to walk, speak or feed herself after a devastating process of lifting Brazil.
Daidys Pena Garces was performed by a non -specialized surgeon and, weeks later, suffered a pulmonary embolism that resulted in catastrophic brain damage. The devastating complications have made the 50 -year -old who cannot walk or speak, according to her husband Jorge Fernandez.
Mr Fernandez, who has become a full -time caregiver of his wife, has now begun legal action. He said: “It was my first, like my first love … [Now] Will never speak or walk or eat on its own. ”
A Brazilian lift, usually referred to as BBL, includes the extraction of fat, stomach and other areas through liposuction before putting it on the buttocks. Mrs Garins, whose operation was carried out in Miami, Florida, claims that she was not informed of the risks associated with surgery.
Although medical professionals repeatedly underline the dangers of BBLs, who may be fatal, patients continue to undergo a process that hopes to achieve a larger, more configured bottom, reports The mirror.
Mrs Garces became ill after its operation in May 2023 and, after spending months in the hospital, the prognosis seems gloomy.
Her husband’s lawyer, Lavenia Santos, told WSVN: “This pulmonary embolism has emerged because of this surgery … Garces would not have undergone a high risk plastic surgery if the surgeon was not trained and certified.
“The woman has no idea that she is not cared for by a plastic surgeon certified by the Board of Directors.
However, in Florida, there is no legal obligation for a doctor to keep the vessel certification in plastic surgery to carry out a Brazilian lifting process.
A gofundme campaign has been created for the Miami couple to help Ms. Garces with everyday duties that now find it difficult to manage. Her home may require modifications to help her cope with her ongoing difficulties.
The capital gathering page states: “Daidys required urgent medical care and was hospitalized for seven months due to pulmonary embolism … Now, Daidys is unable to perform any daily living activities without help.
People who think of cosmetic surgery abroad will soon be guided to avoid potential dangers from social media personalities. The Ministry of Health and Social Care is preparing to develop an initiative with Tiktok to encourage safer decision -making.
