Kyle Alessandro, the Norwegian spokesman for Eurovision 2025, had to undergo an emergency teeth surgery in Basel.
Mads Tørklep, head of the Norway delegation, explained that Kyle was in pain, but was able to complete his first rehearsal after getting painkillers.
“He was little able to open his mouth early today and got strong painkillers to be able to complete the rehearsal.”
Immediately after the rehearsal was completed, Kyle rushed to a dentist who found that there was a serious infection in the gum tissue. The dentist decided that the wisdom tooth should be removed immediately.
Kyle says the pain started on Monday.
“I didn’t think so much and I thought it would probably go away after a few days, but since then the pain had worsened and worse, to date, we started the day with the first rehearsal in the arena and went very well.
After the rehearsal, I began to have plenty of pain again, so we had an emergency appointment for the dentist, who resulted in the removal of the wisdom tooth. The dentist said I had to rest until Wednesday, and then it was all better. ”
Kyle Alessandro said the dentist to rest and avoid physical activity for the next few days. He cannot also sing. Because of this, the Norwegian delegation’s program has been waiting for the next few days. Kyle had to spend most of the second rehearsal and have three hours of interview with the International Press on Monday and Tuesday. All this has been canceled now.
Mads Tørklep explained:
“We need to look at what we do. You often get in bad form when you have a wisdom tooth removed, so it is difficult for us to perform scheduled activities.
The rest of the team will try the show without Kyle in her own time. Norway’s next rehearsal in the arena will take place on Wednesday.
Kyle Alessandro was chosen to represent Norway in Basel after the victory of Melodi Grand Prix 2025. He will perform “lighter” at number 8 in the first semifinal on 13 May.
We had the opportunity to talk to Kyle at the Melfest WKND party in Stockholm in March. You can watch the interview here:
