A British mother has died after having a Brazilian butt lift in Turkey that she hoped would change her life.
Kaydell Brown, 38, from Sheffield, paid £5,400 for a ‘Mummy MOT’ – a package which included a Brazilian butt lift, a tummy tuck and a breast job. The cost in Britain would be around £15,000.
The hairdresser underwent the operations at Clinic Expert in Istanbul on the morning of March 26, 2024, but never came out.
Her devastated sister Leanne, 40, who was due to undergo the same surgery, slammed the Turkish clinic, branding it a ‘pop-up butcher shop that needs to be closed’.

Leanne claimed that after doctors told her of her sister’s death, they handed her an envelope of cash and booked her on the next flight home.
“It’s like, ‘Sorry he died, here’s your plane ticket,'” he said. ITV.
Kaydell hoped the surgery would get her life “back on track” after putting weight on her ankle injury, according to her sister.
Leanne said: “She was very happy. She was excited. We were smiling, laughing and he just wanted to get there and do it.”
Two days later, Kaydell went into theater in the morning for the operation, which was to take five hours.
But 10 hours later, Leanne’s sister was told the operation had tragically killed her sister.
“I was told that night that he didn’t make it. I couldn’t believe it. I was still in a room waiting for her to come back. I had asked a few times how long it would be, and they kept saying, “It’s coming.”

After her request to see her sister’s body was refused, Leanne was forced to return to England without her lover.
Clinic Expert told ITV News: “An internal investigation found no negligence and Kaydell’s death was likely caused by fat blocking a blood vessel, which can happen during this type of surgery.”
Kaydell’s surgeon Dr Sinem Singin said her death was caused by known complications related to the surgery and not medical negligence.
A government spokesman said: “Our condolences go out to the family of Kaydell Brown.
Kaydell’s relatives have been left devastated by the shocking tragedy
“The UK government is actively working with the Turkish government on how to support the safety of patients who decide they wish to travel to Turkey for medical treatment.”
“We urge anyone considering cosmetic surgery abroad to research the treatment in question, the qualifications of their clinician and the regulations in place in the country they are traveling to.”
The UK government said its officials were in contact with Turkish authorities about the mother-of-two’s death.
A British pathologist’s findings after examining Kaydell’s body tissue led to an inquest, which has been postponed until early 2025.
Kaydell’s family has not yet been informed of the cause of death by Turkish authorities.
The Foreign Office said 28 Britons have died after undergoing cosmetic surgery in Turkey since 2019.
