Exclusive: Krunal Nirban struggled with his confidence and “was ready to give up” after a hair transplant that came out worse and not better at the age of 24
When Krunal Nirban was 24 years old, he decided that it was time for hair transplantation. But unfortunately, his first attempt did not go as planned. “For years, I have tried various medicines, powders and gadgets such as infrared hair combs, before deciding on a hair transplant at 24,” recalls Krunal, owner of Cricket Coaching Company Perfect Timing Academy. My hair loss massively affected my trust, especially as it was from such a young age. I grew up in an Indian culture where hair was a source of identity and pride. His loss really influenced my self -esteem. “I would have to constantly style my hair to cover areas that had been diluted. I would wear hats almost every day to hide my hair loss.
“It was so difficult and partly was the reason why I was looking for surgery – mainly to make people stop asking me for my hair.” But Krunal’s first attempt at a hair transplant let him feel frustrated with his hair line. “My first attempt did not go as planned,” he recalls. “I was unhappy with my hair lines and my ultrasound sides – I found that too many hair follicles were exported and there was a visible decrease in my hair density even in implanted areas. “My hair line came very low and I didn’t have much to say in the real plan itself. Also, I didn’t consult well about the future evolution of my hair loss that is so important.
“Since I have the process, I have realized that I might not have been operating by surgeons, but by popular people who are not properly trained in surgery. Without future design from his original clinic, Krunal was unhappy with his hair lines and ultrasound, he was still lacking in the growth of the hopes of hair. Having left, he reached his head. It was not until May last year that he went to the treatment halls for the number two hair transplant.
Dr. Dilan Fernando and Dr Roshan Vara removed the low line of his hair and recycled the hair in a stronger, more natural hair line, using additional hair donor hair extracted to this first repair stage. They made a second repair to his crown, extracting hair from both the scalp and the beard due to limited donor hair. “Due to the lack of hair density, I was still completely missing from the growth of the hair I was looking for,” Krunal adds.
“I was still struggling with my confidence and I was ready to give up. I even arrived until I got it out, but it meant that I had a hairline that was very low and the opposite of the result I really wanted – that was hair on my scalp.
“I wanted to see how it could be corrected and if my hair line could bring higher and thicker. “From my first process, I was also diluted in my crown, so I also wanted to thicken this area as well, but they had taken so many hair from my original process. I was not sure that this could be achieved alongside repairing my hair line. “I decided to have a hair transplant number two in London’s healing rooms last May. “The process with them was so different from my first experience. He was with me throughout the process. They took so much time to plan the repair and make sure we think of the long -term future of my hair and how it would look as I grew up. “It was really night and day from the surgical day itself in recovery and subsequent care where he was constantly in touch with me.”
Krunal is pleased with his new appearance and wants to warn people to choose where they are wisely wiser. “I think the most important thing people need to know about hair transplants is that you have to talk to a surgeon and plan the surgery,” he adds. “Patients should be careful not to harvest their donor area as you may need another proced “I feel that I have come as far away, both mentally and physically. As a happy husband, father and business owner, it is nice to be happy with my appearance!”
