The National Weather report The service issued increasingly dire warnings as the wet weather worsened.
“Life-threatening flooding is now underway,” Miami-South Florida wrote on X Wednesday afternoon (June 12).
“Please stay off the roads and go to higher ground.”
The mayors of Fort Lauderdale and Hollywood also declared states of emergency in their cities on Wednesday.
