As 2023 begins, Miami Beach has received considerable acclaim, earning the titles of “North America’s Best Beach Destination” and “North America’s Top Urban Destination” from a highly respected organization in the travel sector. This renowned location has now achieved further recognition as the “World’s Best Lifestyle Destination 2023” by the World Travel Awards. This adds another feather to the list of honors received by Miami Beach throughout 2023. Celebrated for its diversity and the plethora of experiences it offers visitors, Miami Beach has an impressive collection of public art, numerous museums and galleries, an array of leading luxury hotels and spas and culinary delights from renowned and emerging chefs.
Grisette Marcos, Executive Director of the Miami Beach Visitor and Convention Authority, expressed pride in receiving the title of World’s Best Lifestyle Destination 2023 at the prestigious World Travel Awards. This follows their previous accolades highlighting the international appeal of Miami Beach. Marcos highlighted their continued efforts to position the city as a premier destination, enhancing visitor engagement through interactive resources and thoughtful user experiences to attract both returning and new tourists.
Miami Beach invites tourists to explore a city rich in architectural heritage and design, nestled among iconic waters. The area offers various activities to experience its natural splendor and way of life, such as water sports, beachside yoga, and culinary options focused on invasive species and sustainable practices aimed at protecting marine life. Over the past year, Miami Beach and the Visitor and Convention Authority have invested in immersive technology, including the launch of the EXP Miami Beach Tours app, available on Google Play and Apple. This app offers users a multitude of lifestyle itinerary options, including visits to cultural institutions, public art, art deco, LGBTQ+ experiences, and much more.
Reinforcing its status as a global lifestyle leader, Miami Beach is set to participate in the inaugural Open House Miami event, scheduled for March 1-2, 2024. This event will make Miami Beach the fourth U.S. city to join this international initiative , after New York, San Diego and Chicago. Open House Miami aims to foster community engagement to shape the future and celebrate historic design and architecture. The event will provide free access to a variety of notable Miami Beach buildings, allowing visitors to connect, learn and engage in meaningful discussions and debates.
