If you’ve ever found googling “What is the compound connection?”, I feel you. With the rise of cheap and happy dental processes (Turkey’s teeth, we look at you) it’s hard to know where to look and what to look for when it comes to dentistry. Especially if the physical appearance is what you follow.
After two rounds of Invisalign (do not recommend that you break your aligns into a global pandemic while your dental practice goes to liquidation) I was still stable to achieve the smile I started at the beginning of my cosmetic dental journey. I knew that I wanted some subtle rounding on my teeth to minimize the heterogeneous extremities, but nothing that would not seem too unnatural or remove from my “appearance”.
After an easy consultation in his beautiful dental practice (seriously, you would forgive that you thought you were in a luxury lounge lounge) we started my complex journey.
Read below for a distribution of all you need to know about the process and advice of Dr. Tom for those who want to start the journey yourself.

What is the difference between complex connection and veneer?
“Porcelain veneers are a thin layer of pottery porcelain, a custom on a copy model of your tooth, which is then connected to the surface of your teeth,” explains Dr. Crawford. “Depending on the shape, location and size of your tooth, some of your natural teeth may need to be removed when preparing the veneers. But the days to shave the d
He added that “this is to ensure that the veneers do not look too big and fit perfectly. In some cases, we can do what is known as non -preparation veneers, which means that we do not need to remove any of the natural surface of the tooth. “
The complex welding, on the other hand, is when a thin layer of composite material, the same material used in white fills, is done directly on the surface of your teeth to create a more unified and sophisticated look on your teeth. The final treatment is done in a single appointment – so the results are achieved quickly. ”
Dr. Crawford informed that “there are different examination factors for each treatment – porcelain veneers are the golden model in terms of longevity (lasting 15 to 20 years if they are well maintained against five to 10 years for complex adhesion) – while complex welding is a more accessible option. Complex welding requires maintenance – regular hygiene appointments and completing teeth whitening, etc., as a natural tooth.
What do I need to know before making a complex connection?
In short: Do your research. Due to the different techniques and the high dependence on the dentist’s ability, you can have very different results with complex welding.
“There are many different ways of applying a complex connection and each dentist will have their preferred methods: from injection, simple shade and multipurpose layering,” says Dr. Crawford. “In Luceo, we try to create the most natural result, so I have personally trained dentists here in multicoloring technique. It is a hand mattress technique, using four to six shades of complex material depending on the desired end result, painted with a special brush, creating natural 3D anatomy on the surface and using more translucent shades and shades to imitate how a natural tooth looks in different lights. We also ensure that all of our patients see a digital simulation of their new smile and go one step further and apply a temporary ‘mock up’ of your new smile so you can see the end result before committing and decisions on shapes, sizes and number of teeth. “
And don’t just focus on the aesthetic element of treatment, says Dr. Crawford. “It is also important for the dentist to evaluate your bite, because the complex can chip, if there is an underlying bite issue, could increase the risk of your complex chipping. So, in order to get the best long-term result, taking into account a brief course of orthodontic therapy in advance-such as Invisalign-can be beneficial.
How long does the complex connection last?
On average, complex welding can take between five to 10 years, depending on how you care for your teeth, how many tea/brown/red wine etc. Drink and if you smoke. As with all dental treatments, seeing a healthy healthy to maintain tooth hygiene, as well as see your dentist for a particular complex varnish can enhance the life span.
The main reason for replacing the composite gathering often decreases in appearance, with what is simply needed. But even if it has to be removed and replaced, finding a good dentist can ensure that it is done in such a way that your teeth enamel is not damaged.
What should people expect when the teeth are connected?
Personally, the whole experience was without pain and easy.
On average, the process takes 30-40 minutes per tooth. I had my first six teeth, so she was on the chair for about four hours, but she really didn’t feel so much, thanks to being as comfortable and relaxed as possible. I brought my headphones and a good podcast with me and time threw.
