Dr Rajput said people should see hair loss specialists as often as their dentists.
She said it’s essential to have someone to “monitor” your hair concerns and advise you on the best course of action.
“It is important to maintain healthy hair and improve hair growth through various different combinations of treatments,” he said.
“Don’t leave it until it’s too late, the best time to act is as soon as you notice any thinning or hair loss.
“The sooner you act the better overall outcome you will get from implementing these factors.”

Men suffering from hair loss may also benefit from using over-the-counter fanasteride.
Dr Rajput also suggested spending at least an hour a day at the gym, walking or jogging.
“Cardiovascular exercise is also recommended to increase blood flow to the scalp, as a lot of hair loss comes from a lack of blood flow,” he said.
“Head massage is also beneficial and recommended weekly.”
STYLISH KEYS
Dr. Rajput said hair thinning can be reduced by avoiding heat and styling tools that put pressure on the hair.
“Braiding the hair, wearing a tight head covering such as a bandana and turban, having hair extensions or a weave, etc. they can all cause traction hair loss — known medically as traction alopecia,” he said.

“Regardless of the hairstyle, it’s very important to keep the scalp moisturized and hydrated and not to wear your hair out in tight slicked back hairstyles.
“This causes unnecessary stress and tension on the hair and will likely lead to breakage and hair loss over time.”
What causes hair loss?
Renowned hair transplant surgeon Dr Matee Rajput said that androgenetic alopecia is one of the most common causes of hair loss and is related to aging.
“This mainly affects men, but it can also affect women as they get older,” he said.
“Chronic diseases, including diseases affecting the intestines, diabetes, epilepsy and other serious diseases like this, can put a lot more stress on the body and lead to significant hair loss.”
Dr. Rajput said a diet lacking in vitamins and minerals can also cause weight loss.
“Diets deficient in vitamin D, zinc, iron, magnesium and vitamin C can contribute significantly to hair loss,” he said.
“Furthermore, stress and anxiety are also some of the common causes as this puts unnecessary strain on the body.
“Other elements that can cause hair loss include excessive use of hair chemicals such as sulfates, parabens, ammonia and sodium lauryl sulfate are particularly harmful to the scalp and are known to cause hair loss.
“Genetics also play a big role in hair loss, so if your parents have experienced hair loss, then it’s more likely that their children will also suffer from hair loss.”
