Popular actress, Amanda Bynes recently released the first episode of her new podcast, Amanda Bynes & Paul Sieminski: The Podcast. However, the actress left the masses stunned when she revealed a particular procedure, called Blepharoplasty. Amanda Bynes has opened up about how she’s different because of her eyelid surgery.
She went on to explain how the surgery removed the folds of skin around the corners of her eyes. Calling it “the greatest thing” she could ever do, Amanda Bynes said:
“So I saw some stories online saying I have a new look. I don’t have those skin folds anymore. It was one of the best things I could ever do for my confidence and it made me feel so much better in my own skin. I feel so much better about myself now and I’m so glad I had the surgery. It was one of the greatest things I could have ever done.”
According to the Cleveland Clinic, blepharoplasty is the procedure through which one can change the appearance of the eyes. From tired eyes to droopy eyes, it generally removes skin folds to better frame the shape of the eyes, improving facial features. The site calls the safe if done by a specialist doctor or surgeon.
Blepharoplasty doesn’t remove dark circles, crow’s feet or wrinkles: Procedure details explored as Amanda Bynes talks about the knife
As Amanda Bynes opened up about her recent surgery and revealed how she went under the knife to improve the look of her eyes, many wondered what the surgery is all about and how it helps the person undergoing it.
While the surgery Amanda Bynes underwent doesn’t help with conditions like dark circles, crow’s feet, and even wrinkles, it just targets the fatty muscles around the eyes to better shape them. According Cleveland Clinic, the procedure can reduce puffiness, making the eyes appear fuller and larger.
The website states:
“As the skin ages, it gradually loses its elasticity. The lack of elasticity, combined with the relentless pull of gravity, causes excess skin to accumulate on your upper and lower lids. Blepharoplasty often means removing excess skin, muscle and underlying fatty tissue. But sometimes providers can reposition the webs instead of removing them.”
The procedure can be done on both upper and lower eyelids. At the same time, although it is a surgical cosmetic procedure, many times doctors recommend it to people who wish to improve their field of vision, as at that time the tightening of the upper eyelids can obstruct their vision.
The site also states that people who are at least 30 years old should only be the ones doing this procedure. One should be careful if they have conditions like glaucoma, retinal detachment, thyroid problems, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease or even diabetes.
While the procedure takes about an hour, the patient must take some precautions before and after the surgery.
While most experts consider blepharoplasty to be fairly safe, it does carry some risks of bleeding, infection, scarring, dry eye, and more. However, after Amanda Bynes opened up about her surgery, social media users erupted with their reactions as people were shocked. to see the change in her appearance.
