The CSI Miami star hasn’t appeared on screen in over a decade and hasn’t been seen in public since 2016.
The 35-year-old actor began his career as a child starring in the sitcom “Complete Savages” from 2004 to 2005 in which he shared the screen with Jason Dolley and Mel Gibson. He also appeared in “24” as Jack Bauer’s nephew and in “CSI Miami” as Horatio Caine’s son. On the big screen, he had a role in the 2009 family drama, “My Sister’s Keeper,” alongside Cameron Diaz. The cause of his death has not been released at this time.
The 67-year-old actor has been in the spotlight in recent years, but is best known for his role as Lt. Horatio Caine in The Experts: Miami.
The American detective series ran for 232 episodes and Caruso, who starred in all of them, became one of the most beloved American television actors during its critically acclaimed run.
Miami ended in 2012, and Caruso then took the opportunity to step back from acting and enjoy his private life away from television screens and the limelight.
The actor was seen near his home in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley while running errands while sporting a much longer hairstyle than fans are used to.
This is the first time the reclusive TV star has been photographed publicly since 2016.
Following the deletion of Miami, Caruso decided to give up acting and instead turn to the art business. He opened a gallery and also expanded into the clothing industry, opening a boutique called Steam on Sunset in Florida.
Although he has given up acting, he is believed to still enjoy his time on screen.
An insider told theDaily Mail as the star paid tribute to his career in his garage at home, saying: “He has a photo of himself from his days Miami Experts and another of Proof of life – two of his greatest hits. Both hang in his garage.
Meanwhile, off-screen, Caruso led a fairly personal life, having been married three times.
The actor first married in 1979 when he walked down the aisle to Cheri Maugans, best known for her roles on Dallas. Their romance ended in 1984 and the same year, he married actress Rachel Ticotin. The couple, who share a daughter, separated in 1987.
Caruso then got married in 1996 when he married producer Margaret Buckley. However, this ended in 2004 and he met Liza Marquez, who became the mother of his two youngest children, Marquez and Paloma.
Caruso then met Amina Tyrone in 2008, and the two are believed to have been together ever since.
His first public appearance in years comes just weeks after his former The Experts: Miami co-star, actor Evan Ellingson, was found dead at only 35 years old.
