Skin rejuvenation beyond “beautification”
“In my clinic, I always focus on rejuvenating and rejuvenating treatments rather than injecting filler, changing one’s profile or performing so-called ‘beautification’ treatments. Instead, our team is passionate about regenerative therapies – applied by both devices and injections – such as polynucleotides and skin enhancers. That’s my ethos and next year we predict more people will seek out these treatments instead of just opting for injectables.”
More demand for radio frequencies
“Sylfirm is a fully FDA-approved treatment that uses both pulsed and continuous radiofrequency waves. It is a very good alternative to laser treatments and can also treat post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation conditions caused by lasers. It is a unique technology and unlike many of its competitors on the market, it is very comfortable with almost no pain or downtime. Expect to hear more about this in 2025.”
Layer different treatments
“My favorite combination right now is prepping the skin with polynucleotides (injectable regenerative therapies that activate fibroblasts) followed by an energy-based device such as ultrasound, laser, or radiofrequency, depending on the patient’s concerns. Finally, I like to follow it up with a topical application of exosomes. It’s like an extra boost for collagen and elastin production. We’re already seeing more people opting for this ‘layering’ approach, and we only see demand growing from here.”
Increasing the patient’s strength
“Many patients come and ask not to have it certain treatments. We live in an information world and patients are now researching what they want before they come. High on the ‘don’t want’ list are fillers (or at least those that look unnatural and overly bloated) and treatments that have highly publicized side effects and significant downtime.”
Prevailing Body Positivity
“These days I barely do any standalone fat freezing treatments. I always compare my body contouring treatments to a dress – multiple layers, think fat, muscle and skin. These are the pillars of great results but also vitality and longevity. I am glad to see my patients now thinking in terms of “power is the new minute”. For several years, I would have patients come in trying to completely change their shape or erase any curves from their bodies. What I see now is more of a gentle change, enhancing their natural appearance. The body positivity movement has become so incredibly beneficial not only for those who want to embrace their bodies but also for those looking for self-confidence.”
Less is more is the best option
I treat my patients with the “less is more” philosophy. I apply it not only to injectable regenerative medicine, but to device and laser treatments. Over the past 20 years cosmetic devices have advanced significantly and become very powerful to the point where a non-invasive facelift is actually a thing. With great power comes great responsibility, otherwise known as side effects. And as with any other medical procedure, we must strictly know and counsel our patients about potential risks. This is why even with appliances it’s incredibly important to work with the “less is more” approach. Choose wisely! Prevention is my work ethos and I realize that subtle regular treatments can provide much better and safer results in the long term.
The Future Is Holistic
We are seeing longer life expectancy and an increased number of patients with weight loss and a focus on muscle mass and mobility. Skin and muscle rejuvenation will continue to grow in demand. I believe we will continue to move away from simply ‘looking good’ to a more holistic approach, and I see devices and technology as part of that future holistic solution.
