Gypsy-Rose Blanchard talks about her nose surgery journey.
Speaking on the podcast Going Deeper with Gypsy-Rose Blanchard and Ken in an episode that aired on Wednesday, October 16, Blanchard, 33, touched on the procedure of the cosmetic surgery procedure. This came after she told PEOPLE in April that she would be doing rhinoplastyand then revealed her new nose later that month.
Although she admitted on the podcast that she had “a little bit” of trauma anxiety as she underwent the procedure, Blanchard said the anxiety wasn’t “as much as people might think because this was a surgery that I chose to have of my own free will .”
“This is something I’ve wanted for a long time. I was forever teased about my nose and social media made it even worse. They called me a nose,” he said.
Blanchard added: “I was called all kinds of things. Ugh. You know, so the surgery was something that would boost my confidence and make me feel like the woman I want to be.’

“So surgery was the right thing for me,” he continued. “And I didn’t want anything super drastic. I just wanted the bump to go away and my surgeon did an amazing job.”
Blanchard’s partner Ken Urkerwho is she she is expecting her first baby me, also opened up during the podcast episode about how her nose job didn’t change the way he felt about her.

“I mean, what’s the reality, I mean, when I fell in love with her, she had brown hair, long brown hair,” Urker said. “It had the previous nose. He had the silver ones. Do you know? So, that hasn’t changed the way I feel about her at all.”
Speaking about his support, he added, “I mean, I know he’s wanted this process since we knew each other, you know, in the early days. So I was very supportive. I was like, “Well, now you can finally go do what you want.” “
“And if it makes you happier, then of course I support you. So yes,” Urker concluded.
Blanchard then added, “We have a long history of teasing each other about noses because, I mean,” to which her friend replied, “We’re kidding. [how] our daughter may have a strong nose. Bless her heart.”
“Because you could do the surgery, but the genetics are still there,” Blanchard noted.
