NBA All-Star Kevin Love Bought a Home in Coconut Grove, Miami The real deal has learned.
Love, a forward for the Miami Heat, and his wife, Kate, paid $9.5 million for a special home just northeast of Main Highway. The couple acquired the home through a trust and financed the purchase with a $6.1 million mortgage from Morgan Stanley, records show.
Love began playing for the NBA in 2008 when he joined the Minnesota Timberwolves. In 2014, he joined the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he played until joining the Heat last season. He signed a two-year, $7.9 million contract with the Heat.
Its 6,400 square feet Coconut Grove the house has seven bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a wine cellar and a swimming pool, according to the property’s listing. He was on the market with Brett Eaglstein and Eli Faitelson of the Chad Carroll Group at Compass for nearly $10 million. They declined to comment.
A company led by Carlos Fontecilla and Justin Drexler sold the house. It was completed in 2023 on a one-third acre lot.
A number of NBA players have purchased multimillion-dollar homes from Pinecrest to Sunny Isles Beach in recent years. Late 2022 Miami Heat shooting guard Tyler Herro paid off $10.5 million for a non-waterfront mansion in Pinecrest.
Victor Oladipo, who previously held the same position for the Heat, recently sold his Miami Beach home on Hibiscus Island, two months after being traded to the Oklahoma Thunder. Oladipo sold the property for $9 million, two years after acquiring it for $7.8 million.
In the fall of 2022, the Los Angeles Laker and former Miami Heat star player LeBron James paid $9 million for a unit at Acqualina Beachfront Estates in Sunny Isles Beach. James’ old mansion in Coconut Grove was recently resold for $18.5 million.
