Melanie Griffith was photographed with what appeared to be bruises on her arm and cheek as she left a skin care clinic on Thursday – more than a decade after she first opened up about her battle with skin cancer.
The Hollywood icon’s left arm and knuckles were noticeably dark purple while a small section near her ear also appeared to be discolored.
However, she didn’t try to cover up the flaws as she kept her blonde tresses in a messy bun.
Despite the bruises, the make-up-free movie star, 65, looked stylish in a brown leather jacket, dark sweater and white trousers. Complete the look with orange cat-eye sunglasses and Gucci sneakers.
The clinic Griffith was leaving — the Melanie Grant Skin Care Clinic — specializes in facials and clinical treatments such as laser facials and depigmentation.
Griffith has been very open about her battle with skin cancer and her decision to undergo dermabrasion – a laser treatment that helps remove the top layer of skin, including cancer cells, which can cause bruising.
In fact, last year, the “Working Girl” actress was spotted with a large scar on the exact same area of her face.
A closer look showed that a small part of the tear, which appeared to be stitched, remained open and healed.
While the cause of Griffith’s scar was unknown, the actress has previously spoken about how the diagnosis has affected her career.

A few weeks later, the actress share a photo of herself with a bandaged nose to urge people to check their sunspots.
“Bandage again after dermabrasion, the last step to correct the skin cancer removed by the basil,” he wrote. “If any of you have it, fix it. If you are lying in the sun, exposed to a lot of sun, be CAREFUL.”
He added: “Use sunscreen. Get checked out by your dermatologist. If you don’t have one, get one or go to your nearest clinic and ask to be tested for it. More information to come! 💋”
Griffith first revealed her skin cancer diagnosis in 2009 after walking the red carpet with a black eye.
Although many believed that the bruise was from her then-husband Antonio Banderas, the actress admitted that she had undergone surgery to remove an early-stage cancer from her face.
Representatives for Griffith did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
