Don’t worry if you can’t fly to Florida’s Bal Harbour to shop.
The Miami-based outdoor shopping destination is being transported — in 30 custom-built shipping containers — for a massive pop-up event in Raleigh’s North Hills Main District.
Officially launching on Friday, Nov. 24, Bal Harbour Shops will host its Access Pop-up for an eight-week run featuring a curated collection of today’s most sought-after brands: Tiffany & Co., Balmain, Addict, Assouline, James Perse, among others.
It’s the first time the luxury retailer is taking its stock on the road.
The pop-up will be located at 4359 Six Forks Road, at the intersection of Six Forks and Lassiter Mill roads. It will span 17,000 square feet, encompassing 30 custom-built shipping containers, walkways and a retractable canopy.
A restaurant called The Whitman will seat 150 people, with a full bar and lounge alongside makeshift koi ponds, fountains and planters.
The shops will be open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. The restaurant will remain open until 10 p.m.
“We’re excited about bringing the ‘tropical’ luxury shopping outside of Bal Harbour for the first time,” said Matthew Lazenby, president and chief executive officer of Whitman Family Development. “Our loyal customer expects only the finest.”
Opened in 1965 by his great grandfather, Stanley Whitman, the family-owned Bal Harbour Shops was one of the country’s first all-luxury fashion centers featuring high-end retailers in a tropical, open-air setting.
