Josh Peck isn’t too private to talk about plastic surgery to combat some signs of aging — nor is he too shy to reveal how a well-intentioned comment from a Turner and Hooch crew member convinced him to finally go ahead with the procedure.
On its last episodes Nice guys podcastthe previous Drake & Josh The child star, 38, asked a listener to open up about laser eye surgery he had last year.
“You know, I like to keep these things private,” joked Peck, who has spoken about the process several times in recent months. “But I guess I’ll share. Nice!”
He went on to explain that the decision was made with his future in Hollywood in mind.
“I had, last year, a lower eyelid blepharoplasty. I put it up for three years,” Peck said. “I was making a show in 2020 with the call Turner and Hooch on Disney+. You haven’t seen it and that’s your loss. And at one point, the cinematographer came up to me and said very nicely, he says, “You know, you’re a little difficult in the light.”
Peck added: “He didn’t say it like that; he said it much nicer and Canadian.”
This wasn’t the first comment Peck had received about his visible bags under his eyes, and he doubted it would be the last.
“I started hearing from [the DP] and some of the producers, who know I don’t drink,” recalls Peck. “They know that I have a kid, that I don’t live hard, that I’m not out partying, and that, you know, the bags under my eyes are nothing but some crappy genetics.” He then said, “It’s all from my dad’s side. So thanks for nothing, Dad! I couldn’t get stuck, but leave me your luggage, I understood.’
Aside from his career concerns, Peck admitted he became aware of eye bags when a fellow actor, whom he did not name, suggested he do some work.
“He called a good friend of mine, who’s a great actor, whose name I won’t say because I don’t know if he wants to be known publicly as someone who did the surgery,” Peck said. He added jokingly: “He’s not as brave as I am.”
At this, podcast co-host Ben Soffer chimed in: “Tom Cruise?”

But while the actor’s identity remains a mystery, Peck left his name to another celebrity friend who offered words of wisdom: “Shout someone who loves them [being] The name said, John Stamos, my other friend, who was like, “George Clooney did it, Josh. Just do it.” He was like, “You should have done it yesterday, what are you, crazy?”
Along with Stamos’ encouragement, Peck noted that the podcast video was another contributing factor to going under the knife because “seeing myself every week really hurt my feelings and the comments resonated with my feelings ».
Blepharoplasty, which removes excess skin from the eyelids, can give the eyes a younger, more alert appearance. according to the Mayo Clinic. It can also improve peripheral vision caused by sagging skin.
“It’s the best,” Peck said of the process. “It’s very easy. It all goes inside your eye. No scar, little lift, little wrapping.”
