This year Global Conference on Law and the Entertainment and Sports Industry 2024 will cover topics such as “The AI Revolution” with insights from industry leaders, current issues in the Latin American music industry and a panel discussion on women’s sports.
Authorities in their field, speakers include Dallas Cowboys General Counsel Jason Cohen, Shiri Ben-Yishai, Fanatics Collectibles General Counsel, Hollywood Park Management Company SARL Marlene Nations, senior vice president of legal affairs and general counsel, and Jonathan Anschell, executive vice president, general counsel and secretary of Mattel.
University of Miami School of Law Entertainment and Sports Law Society And LL.M. in Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law host the annual event. The society held its first conference in 1997. Since then, it has grown into a large-scale event where law students and professionals participate in a forum to discuss current legal issues in the fields of sports, entertainment, intellectual property , arts and media.
Some of the best-known local and national attorneys, professors, agents, legal advisors, athletes, and entertainers serve as panelists, lead question-and-answer sessions, and foster scholarly debate.
Florida Bar CLE credits are pending with 15.0 general credit hours (2.0 ethics and 3.0 technology) and 15.0 commercial litigation certification.
The Thursday, April 4 and Friday, April 5, 2024 event will take place at the Shalala Student Center, 1330 Miller Drive on the Coral Gables campus, from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and is open to the public with a registration. General admission for the two-day conference is $450, $400 for Miami Law alumni, $50 for non-UM students and free for UM students, faculty and staff.
