A former Premier League star followed Wayne Rooney’s footsteps and had a hair transplant.

The former Villa Right-Back had the process to enhance his confidence.

Ahmed Elmohamady, 37, has proudly revealed the results of a hair transplant.

Had 4,085 hairs implanted in the dilution areas of his scalp, using Advanced Direct Hair Implantation Technique (DHI).

Elmohamady, who played for Sunderland 56 times between 2010 and 2013, had the process at DHI Global’s clinic Near Harley Street.

The former Captain of Egypt said: “I had the hair Transplant because I wanted to reinforce my trust.

‘I suffer from hair Loss for the last five years and I have felt it would give me a little push to sort it.

“So many men get help with their hair and it’s not really a big deal.

“Obviously Wayne Rooney was the first high -profile footballer who was really open to his transplant.

“I admired Wayne for the public and it looked much better after he was healing.

“But it was another wayne that inspired me to really complete it.

“The Wayne Bridge, with which I played at Sunderland, had a transplant at the DHI World Clinic in September.

“He still waits for all new hair to grow back, but he is sure he will look good and completely natural.

“I do a lot of television projects here and the Middle East and it is important to look my best when I talk about the game.

“Women improve their appearances with cosmetic surgery all the time. It is wonderful that there is now the same acceptance as men.”

Elmohamady joined the villa in 2017, when he was fighting to get it out of the championship.

By his creamy boots At Villa Park in 2021, Elmohamady began working for the club’s commercial department.

He said: “It’s a great time to be a fan of the villa. We won the European Cup in 1982 and it would be great if we could conquer Europe Again under the UNAI EMERY. ”

Elmohamady is a close friend of Liverpool star Mohammed Salah.

He said: “It is great to watch MO grow as a footballer and become one of the biggest players in the world.

“I’ll tell him all about my hair transplant when the villa plays Liverpool Later in the season and how I had it in DHI.

“Mo always changes his hair and looks great now he has cut it soon.”
