The Implant Dentistry Show will return to central London in February, following the huge success of last year’s inaugural event.
Bringing together profession and industry, the Implant Dentistry Show 2020 will showcase the latest thinking, techniques and tools in the field. As such, it aims to help educate, inspire and revitalize clinicians.
The free day will also include an exhibition and short lecture program packed with leading clinicians ready to share their wisdom. Skills Presented at the Dental Implants Expo
The lecture schedule brings to the stage some of the most experienced implant authorities.
Implant Dentistry TodayEddie Scher, a specialist in oral surgery and prosthetics, will deal with the complications. It will suggest how to cope when things go wrong.
Oral surgeon expert and esteemed academic professor Cemal Ucer will explain the applications of digital dentistry in oral surgery and implant dentistry.
Dr. Anthony Bendkowski will bring his 30 years of experience in surgical and restorative implant case management. His presentation is entitled “No screw, no glue – the concept of conometric connection”.
During his afternoon session, Dr Nigel Saynor will offer his thoughts on the cause, effect, impact and management of implant failure.
Dr Andrew Dawood, specialist in periodontics and prosthodontics, known as a technological visionary, will offer simple solutions to complex implant problems. This is designed to deliver engaging, yet practical content. Content that implant dentists of all experience levels will find interesting and valuable.
Implant and cosmetic dentist Marcus Gambroudes will explain the diversity of the Bredent Sky range of implants for the rehabilitation of the spongy patient.
Oral and prosthodontic specialist Dr Ashok Sethi will focus on ‘Essentials of Occlusion in Implant Dentistry’. It will evaluate planning and functional assessment tools. Special emphasis is placed on differentiating between confirmatory and reorganized occlusion.
Renowned dental technician Sergio Polisi will present 3D virtual patient reproduction and esthetic reconstruction. Using real patient cases, he will describe how the treatment team can improve patient satisfaction through workflows that enable the reduction of chairside appointments. And it will affect the realistic preview of final intentions for 100% individual restorations.
Who is who?
Dr Anthony Bendkowski BDS FDSRCS LDSRCS MFGDP DipDSed DPDS MSurg Dent MDTFed, Dental Surgeon
Anthony is an oral surgery specialist in practice limited to reconstructive implant surgery in London and the South East of England. He has 30 years of experience in surgical and restorative implant case management. He is also a past president of the Association of Dental Implantology (UK) and examiner for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh Diploma in Implant Dentistry.
Dr Andrew Dawood, implant surgeon
Andrew devotes his time to dental implant surgery, research and development for specialist implant manufacturing and digital dentistry. He has honorary affiliations at University College Hospital, London and Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, working with implant rehabilitation of patients who have undergone extensive resection or trauma.
He also lectures regularly on the surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant dentistry, is well published in the scientific literature and has a number of important innovations to his name. Andrew enjoys coaching his colleagues in all aspects of implant dentistry, with the aim of enabling them to have confidence in their implant practice.
Professor Eddie Scher BDS LDS RCS MFGDP, dentist and specialist in oral surgery and prosthodontics
A graduate of University College Hospital, Eddie specializes in oral surgery and prosthetics. He is a visiting professor of implantology at Temple University, Philadelphia, USA, and was an honorary lecturer at the Eastman Dental Institute in London.
Eddie’s practice, Walpole Street Practice Dental Surgery in Chelsea, has been placing implants for over 25 years. The practice runs the implant certificate course – a 12-day course lasting six months.
Eddie is also its editor-in-chief Implant Dentistry Today. He is also a founding member and past president and scientific advisor of the Society of Dental Implantology, guiding his colleagues in all aspects of implant dentistry to enable them to have confidence in their implant practice.
Marcus Gambroudes, implant surgeon
Marcus qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2000 and was among the very select few to receive a clinical distinction. During his studies as a dentist he developed a strong interest in dental implants and cosmetic dentistry. For more than 10 years since qualifying he has been following his passion, pushing his skills to a very high level.
He has placed and restored more than 4,000 dental implants to date. He now regularly teaches other dental professionals on the subject of implants and cosmetic dentistry. He also won a national Cosmetic Dentistry Award in recognition of the life-changing dentistry he practices.
Professor Cemal Ucer BDS MSc PhD FDTFEd, implant surgeon
Cemal is a specialist in oral surgery. His clinical research interests include immediate implant placement, reconstructive bone surgery, nerve injury, and the effect of bone mineral density on the success of implant therapy.
Academically, he has gained European recognition for his work in developing a new framework for teaching and assessing clinical competence in implant dentistry. Cemal is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh School of Dental Educators and a member of the International Implantology Group.
Dr Nigel Saynor DS MSc Implantology, Dental Surgeon
Nigel is a past president of the British Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, a member of the American Academy of Ossification and the Society of Dental Implantology and past president and secretary of the Stockport branch of the British Dental Association.
Sergio Polisi, dental technician
Sergio attended IISS Ernesto Ascione in Italy between 2005 and 2010. After leaving school, he became a dental technician supervisor at Protesika Dental Laboratory in Palermo, Italy.
He moved to the UK in 2015 to become a dental technician at Ceramiart Dental Laboratory in London before joining Luke Barnett Dental Laboratory in Watford in 2016.
In 2018, he joined the Steger Dental Laboratory in Brunico, Italy. Here he was involved with Zirkonzahn in its research and development. as well as a dental technician, course instructor and lecturer representing the company at many international conferences.
Dr Ashok Sethi BDS DGDP(UK) MGDSRCS(Eng) DUI(Lille) FFGDP(UK), Specialist in Oral and Prosthodontics
Ashok has been a pioneer in the art and science of implant surgery and restorative dentistry since 1979. His practice is exclusively dedicated to implants. It achieves excellent success rates in terms of predictability as well as aesthetic and functional outcome.
He conceived and taught the Diploma in Implant Dentistry at the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is also director of the Practical Implant Dentistry Academy, providing postgraduate education and training in practical implant dentistry. Ashok is a founding member and past president of the Association of Dental Implantology. He has been elected an honorary life member.
Ashok has written a book, Practical Implant Dentistry, jointly with Thomas Kaus. This has been translated into 10 different languages and has a second edition: Practical Implant Dentistry – Science and Art.
