Join Colin Burns on Thursday 23 November at 7pm as he discusses the restoration of a dental implant for a difficult case of dental trauma.
On the next edition of Dentistry Live on November 23 at 7pm, Colin Burns focuses on a challenging dental trauma case. The patient sustained a severe injury to his upper right central incisor, resulting in an irreparable root fracture and the need for tooth extraction.
Colin will guide us through the treatment process, from the initial use of a partial denture to the recent extraction of the tooth. The case, designed on a type 2c protocol, included detailed CBCT and IOS scans, which showed adequate bone volume and favorable tissue biotype, despite the presence of an adjacent porcelain-faced tooth.
“Aesthetic Challenges”
This session highlights the ‘Smile in A Box’ protocol, which includes the placement of a Straumann BLT implant and, if necessary, the use of Bio-Oss and Bio-Gide. Colin’s expertise will be particularly evident in managing the esthetic challenges posed by the anterior zone and the presence of adjacent restorations.
Watch as Colin demonstrates shaping the gingival architecture with a temporary crown and capturing the emergence profile for the final ceramic crown. This approach is key to achieving optimal aesthetic results and ensuring accurate implant placement.
Don’t miss this opportunity to learn about the cutting edge techniques in anterior esthetic implant dentistry. Submit your questions during the show and compete for a £50 Uber Eats voucher for the best question!
