Heir to a fortune built on tequila Jose Cuervo has invested money in commercial real estate in the United States over the past 15 years, quietly building a portfolio that stretches from Miami to Minneapolis.
Juan Beckmann Vidalthe patriarch behind the maker of tequila and other spirits housed under Béclé SA, purchased and developed at least 5 million square feet (464,515 square meters) of primarily commercial properties in three U.S. states. In total, the buildings are worth more than $1 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
