Watch Anton Du Beke reveal why he had a hair transplant
What did you miss?
Anton Du Beke has revealed he got his hair transplants to boost his confidence.
The Strictly Come Dancing star was a panelist on Loose Women spin-off Loose Men, where he opened up about why he got his hairline enhanced, which he called “the best thing I’ve ever done”.
His co-star Joe Swash also shared that he had a hair transplant for similar reasons as they talked about how much better they felt with their new look.
What, how and why?
Strictly star Anton Du Beke has shared that he had a hair transplant to help his self-esteem and confidence after becoming increasingly distressed by what he saw in the mirror.
Du Beke has spoken on Loose Women in the past about his surgery, but appearing on spin-off show Loose Men told viewers more about the reasons behind it.
Asked about the hair transplant by Vernon Kay’s other co-stars Joe Swash and Jordan Banjo, he said: “I had two. I thought it was my hair, I’ll just move it where I want. I had a bit of a rotation.”
He added: “I did it because when I looked in the mirror, it was all I could see. People do things for their own personal reasons and you have to do it for you.
“When I looked in the mirror all I could see was where it was going. When I did, I immediately felt better about it and better about myself.
“For me it was a huge thing because it was all I could see. It wasn’t going to get any better. We’re starting to get into the world of self-esteem and confidence. How is that going to affect my life long-term, potentially.”
The dancer and TV judge said: “I did it and personally I think it was the best thing I’ve ever done. I feel so much better. It’s not vanity or that I think I’m going to do more work. It literally makes me feel better about myself.
Swash, who has also had a hair transplant, agreed: “I started losing mine when I was a bit younger. I was on TV. I decided to do my hair, it did my confidence in the world of good.”
What else has happened on Loose Women?
Rishi Sunak was the star guest on Thursday’s show where he admitted appearing on Loose Women was one of the most intimidating things he’s had to do as Prime Minister.
Sunak was blasted for how he planned to help people living in poverty and was accused of “hating pensioners” by Judy Love and Janet Street-Porter.
Asked if he was a fan of Loose Women, Sunak replied: “I’ll be perfectly honest. It’s sometimes in the back office that’s my main familiarity with it. I’ve got to say I’ve done a lot of things in this job but being here is probably the scariest end of things I’ve had to do, so let’s see how it goes.”
She added: “You’d think I’d be used to it because I’ve got a family of girls, I’ve got two young girls, even our dog is a girl. So in one way, I should be fine with it, but it’s definitely a bit scary.” .
Loose Women airs on ITV1 at 12.30pm. the week days.
