Following two explosive lawsuits claiming the Alexander brothers’ wealthy real estate heirs raped two women several years agoAbout 30 other alleged victims have come forward with similar complaints, according to the attorney representing the plaintiffs.
“I’ve spoken to about 15 people who told me they were raped by the Alexander brothers, one (brother) or more, at different times, in New York, in South Beach and in other states as well,” he said. said lawyer Evan Torgan. told The Real Deal, which was first to report on the lawsuits.
Torgan later told the Post that he doubled that number because more women were coming to him with similar stories about 36-year-old twins Oren and Alon Alexander of Miami Beach, Florida.
“I talk to new victims every day,” Torgan said.
It’s the latest twist in the shocking story of the brothers’ sudden fall from grace, which began this weekend when The Real Deal reported on the damning lawsuits filed by alleged victims Kate Whiteman and Rebecca Mandel.
The multimillionaire brothers are accused of committing “heinous” acts that were “extreme and outrageous to such an extent that the action was atrocious and intolerable in a civilized society,” according to court filings.
In her lawsuit, Whiteman alleged that the brothers kidnapped her in 2012 and took her to a Hamptons party palace in Water Mill, Long Island, owned by flamboyant banking heir turned recording artist Ivan Wilzig, wearing a Cape.
There, the brothers allegedly dragged her into a large bedroom where she was “sexually assaulted, abused, raped, pinned, groped, harassed, beaten and fondled by defendants Alon and Oren.”
In the second lawsuit, Mandel claimed Alon allegedly spiked her drink after meeting the twins in 2010 at a now-closed club in the Meatpacking District when she was just 18, according to court documents.
The brothers then raped her in their apartment after luring her there under false pretenses, according to her lawsuit.
“I’m proud of what we do here,” Torgan added in a statement to the Post. “And proud of all the people who told their stories, especially Kate Whiteman and Rebecca Mandel, who did so with great courage.”
Brother Alexander’s attorney, Jim Ferraro, has denied the allegations and described the lawsuits as a blatant money grab.
“We are confident that this case will be resolved in their favor thanks to a vast collection of powerful evidence, including phone records, text messages, emails and other documents whose content clearly debunks these claims,” he said. -he declared in a previous statement to the Post. .
But Ferraro did not respond to further requests for comment, including a Wednesday inquiry.
Despite the denials, there have already been concrete consequences for at least one of the men.
On Tuesday, one of the brothers resigned from the company he co-founded over the allegations, which the company called “extremely disturbing” in an internal email obtained by The Post.
The lawsuits were filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act, which allows alleged survivors of sexual assault to seek justice, regardless of when the assaults occurred.
So far, no one else has filed a lawsuit against the twins, who live in Miami Beach and come from a real estate dynasty headed by their father, Shlomy Alexander.
But other claims have apparently landed on The Real Deal’s Instagram page, which is full of comments from accounts claiming they were attacked by the Alexanders or know people who were, the outlet said .
