A colorful, eclectic and luxurious Miami Beach mansion that was assembled and previously owned by art curator Ximena Caminos – the former partner of Argentine hotelier and real estate developer Alan Faena – has sold for $7.7 million dollars.
THE the house asked $8.5 million last year, as Gimme Shelter previously reported.
Caminos bought the house in 2016 for $4 million and sold it last year for $5.7 million to a company led by Miguel Bracamontes Baz, president of a Mexican media conglomerate that owns Diario de México and Diario de México USA.
Caminos, a creative force behind Miami Beach’s Faena District, is the founder of the BlueLab Preservation Society, a nonprofit organization. She is also behind plans to create ReefLine, a High Line-style underwater sculpture park off the coast of Miami Beach, with a proposed 7-mile snorkeling stretch from South Beach to Bal Harbor.
The stunning nine-bedroom, 8-bathroom residence, located at 5454 Pine Tree Drive, includes a guesthouse, as well as a courtyard, a custom pool with built-in lounge chairs, a poolside terrace and a pergola. Past and present residents on the street include Floyd Mayweather Jr., DJ Khaled, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lopez, David Beckham and Elon Musk.
The Mediterranean Revival-style abode measures 6,828 square feet; it sits on a double plot of just over an acre. Built in 1928, it has many modern additions.
Interior details include high ceilings, archways, a kosher chef’s kitchen and pantry.
The master bedroom wing includes two walk-in closets, two spa-like baths, a steam room, as well as a home office with a kitchenette, private stair entry, and an elevator that leads to the rooftop terrace.
The living room has a coffered ceiling and a large fireplace. There’s also a colorful cinema room with jewel-toned walls, a trendy living room/office with leopard print wallpaper and impact-resistant windows and doors.
Nancy Batchelor, a Compass broker who co-listed the property with Liz Hogan, also of Compass, said the “colorful dining room with custom murals” is one of her favorite places in the house.
The buyer, Gaga LLC, was replaced by Matt Crane of Compass.
