March 27 (UPI) — Italian luxury fashion house Dolce&Gabbana, known for its bright colors and leopard prints, is bringing high-end design to Florida’s high-rise real estate market with its first project in the United States.
Dolce&Gabbana’s Grand Residences will become Miami’s tallest building, at 1,049 feet, when it is built at 888 Brickell. THE hybrid condo hotel will feature 250 rooms and suites, with “unparalleled views,” which can be used by owners and hotel guests with private entrances to each.

“Resident buyers will have the option to rent their Dolce&Gabbana-designed homes through the hotel program when not for private use,” according to developer JDS Development Group.
“Miami’s cultural vibrancy provides the perfect backdrop for our world premiere in real estate with ‘fatto a mano,’ or handmade, with artisanal craftsmanship at its heart,” said Alfonso Dolce, CEO of Dolce&Gabbana.
“The project will embody the very essence of the Dolce&Gabbana universe: a luxurious and timeless design experience,” added Dolce.
This design experience will feature a grand lobby with black and burgundy marble, custom handmade Venetian chandeliers and Dolce&Gabbana’s signature hues of black, gold and red, as well as its signature black on black leopard print.
Residents and visitors will have no shortage of dining options with a Dolce&Gabbana restaurant and two bars next to the expansive Grand Lobby. There will also be a restaurant and bar at the Pool Club, which will feature “rich green terrazzo and crisp green and white striped lounge chairs.”
In addition to a 3,800 square foot swimming pool, amenities include a fitness center, golf simulator, yoga/pilates studios, and a recovery spa, which will include IV therapy and a juice bar. Resident amenities include a theater, billiard room, and children’s playroom, as well as workspace and meeting rooms.
“The fashion house’s pursuit of quality and detail in design, along with its ability to create a magnificent world of authentic lifestyle filled with incredible hospitality, ensures that we embark on a creative and successful journey for our future visitors, guests and residents,” said Michael Stern, founder and CEO of JDS Development Group.
Although no timetable or price has been revealed, the new tower at 888 Brickell will be inspired by “modernist skyscrapers and mid-century Milanese design and fashion,” according to architect Studio Sofield, who collaborates outside the building.
“Ivory travertine and matte black steel beams” will give the building an “expressly vertical appearance,” the design team said, in a description that seemed lifted from a fashion magazine. “Toward street level, the building wears a ‘necklace’ of gold beads that brings a warm glow and brilliant shine.”
