Wendy Williams’ former lawyer, LaShawn Thomas, is concerned about his ex-client, alleging that the famous talk show host’s health has seriously deteriorated since her arrival. placed under guardianship.
The Entertainment Lawyer posted an old video on Instagram Saturday of Williams, 59, looking healthy while sitting in bed and saying she enjoys working out at the gym.
“You know, I do what I can,” the former “Wendy Williams Show” host said in the clip recorded by her son Kevin Hunter, Jr., as she flexed her muscles.
“You can clearly see the difference between Wendy’s well-being during his time here in Florida with her son taking care of her and her absence in New York under this ‘guardianship’,” Thomas wrote in the caption.
“These Wendys are not the same. How did her health deteriorate so quickly and why is her only child not allowed to be by her side. She wasn’t like that when he took care of her.
The Miami Entertainment Law Group lawyer said she took this video of Williams two weeks before the court ordered her to return to New York for conservatorship.
Thomas, who we’re told no longer works with Williams, then interviewed the radio’s former DJs recent diagnoses of dementia and aphasia, writing, “If Wendy’s diagnosis is true, now more than ever, her son should be afforded the same grace. He deserves it…and most importantly, Wendy deserves it.
Williams’ current spokesperson declined Page Six’s request for comment, and Wells Fargo, the bank that filed for conservatorship, did not immediately respond to our request.
Williams family members were open about how they struggled to stay in touch with the TV star amid his ongoing health issues.
“People who love her can’t see her,” Williams’ sister, Wanda Finne, told People earlier this week. “How the hell did we get here?”
Wells Fargo claimed in 2022 that Williams was an ‘incapable person’ and therefore needed help managing his finances.
“We are concerned about (Williams’) situation,” attorney David H. Pikus wrote on behalf of the bank at the time in a letter previously obtained by Page Six.
“We hope that the guardianship section (of the court) will soon appoint a temporary guardian or evaluator to review the situation and ensure that (Williams’) matters are properly handled.”
Williams had been very frank about the fact that she was not in favor of guardianship.
Thomas also exclusively told Page Six in August 2022 that Wells Fargo would have left media mogul to ‘die’ when they took over his accounts.
The lawyer previously defended Hunter, who is now 23, telling us he tried to help his mother “both mentally and physically with the help of a team of doctors.”
However, Williams’ conservatorship case was sealedand since then, the “Wendy Williams Experience” alum has cried about his finances in an upcoming documentary series about her life, claiming she has “no money.”
Most recently, Williams spoke to respond to your diagnoses, asking his supporters for “personal space” and “peace” in this difficult situation.
“The messages shared with me touched my heart, reminding me of the power of unity and the need for compassion,” she said in a statement to Page Six on Friday.
“I hope other people with (frontotemporal dementia) can benefit from my story. I would also like to thank the Frontotemporal Degeneration Association for their kind words of support and extraordinary efforts to raise awareness about FTD.
Williams recent struggles should be revealed in more detail in “Where’s Wendy Williams?” ”, airing Saturday and Sunday at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime.
