Xtend Barre founder Andrea Rogers’ favorite lower-body moves are weight-bearing exercises that challenge stability, balance and muscular endurance. “The movement I do in sculpting the leg, thighs, and glutes is a second-place plié series,” he says. “With legs apart and feet slightly turned out. Place your hands on your hips and bend your knees. In a pulsating manner, lower and raise your hips a few inches for 16 to 32 reps.”
Bye-Bye Cellulitis
To treat cellulite, Southlake, TX and Monroe, Los Angeles dermatologist Janine Hopkins, MD says Avéli can help get rid of dimples. The non-surgical treatment that Arcadia, CA plastic surgeon Arthur Yu, MD performs the most is the “Sculptra Butt Lift”. He says he warns that the process can be expensive. “We use about six to 12 vials per side,” he says. “However, the results are immediate and can last up to two years.”
To increase size, fullness and visibility, Brazilian Butt Lift surgery is a popular option. However, it is important to seek out a board-certified plastic surgeon as there are safety risks involved. It should only be performed in an accredited surgical facility or licensed hospital. “The fat should be injected over the buttock muscle,” explains Dr. Williams. “When fat is incorrectly injected into the muscle, the fat can go under the muscle and tear large veins in the buttock. This can cause the fat to travel to the lungs or heart, which is fatal.” In the end, only about 30 to 60 percent of the injected fat will remain long-term.
