Kristin Davis talks about the skepticism she faces about having cosmetic work, including fillers.
The “Sex and the City” and “And Just Like That” star, who plays the notoriously tomboyish and traditional Charlotte in both the original show and the revival, said she’s done some work — some that went well and some that didn’t. .
“I was so excited that I didn’t have to have my sidelines,” Davis, 58, told the Telegraph in a profile ahead of “And Just Like That” Season 2, which airs June 23 on Max.
She started with botox on her forehead: “But I didn’t do anything else for a long time.”
Lip fillers, he said, proved problematic in more ways than one.
“Nobody told me it didn’t look good for the longest time. But luckily I have good friends who finally said it,” Davis said. “The thing is, you don’t smile at yourself in the mirror. Who smiles at themselves in the mirror? Crazy.”
Cosmetic work is becoming increasingly popular in the age of social media as unrealistic beauty standards continue to circulate. And trends have emerged to highlight increased procedures — which isn’t necessarily a good thing, according to experts.
“I had to break them up and they mocked me mercilessly,” he said. “And I’ve shed tears about it. It’s very stressful.”
Now, he said, he doesn’t get fillers. “It’s anything. I can’t go on. I don’t have time. You trust the doctors (but) people personally blame us when it goes wrong – (like) I stuck a needle in my face.”

The work she had done came with constant comparison to the younger version, she said.
“It’s hard to face your younger self at all times,” he said. “And it’s a challenge to remember that you don’t have to look like that.”
Possible risks and side effects of Botox include swelling, superficial skin discoloration and drooping. For fillers, contamination, filler migration and nodules or lumps is among the dangers.
In the trailer for the second season of Max’s “Sex and the City” sequel series, “And Just Like That,” fans will see a couple of familiar faces besides Davis and co-stars Sarah Jessica Parker and Cynthia Nixon.
Aidan, played by John Corbett, returns to Carrie’s (Parker) life after not being seen in the “SATC” universe since the second feature film in 2010. Although Corbett teased that he might join Season 1 , Carrie’s chubby ex-furniture designer never showed up. But that all changed in the new trailer with a brief glimpse of Aidan in the final seconds.
Kim Cattrall, who has previously said that returning to the show is “a no from me”, is also set to reprise her role as Samantha Jones, although no further details have been shared about her involvement.
Elsewhere in the lives of Carrie, Charlotte (Kirstin Davis) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon)? Charlotte worries about a “MILF” list at her daughter’s school, Miranda settles into her relationship with Che (Sara Ramirez), and Carrie explores casual sex to get over her grief over her husband John/Mr. Big (Chris Noth) who shockingly died in Season 1 of “That.”
