Miami’s
up-and-coming Arts and Entertainment District, this three-level glass aerie in the sky is the longtime home of Indian-American fashion designer Naeem Khan.
Khan, who is based in New York City, is known for his ornate and intricately detailed gowns, elaborate and luxurious embroidery, and distinctive use of color and pattern. He has dressed the likes of former first lady Michelle Obama, Kate Middleton, Beyonce, Queen Noor of Jordan, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and Penelope Cruz.
“As opposed to his clothing, which is very opulent, his home is very welcoming and warm,” said listing agent Melissa J. Rubin, of Compass Florida. “Khan has done accessories for interiors and he is also a talented artist.”

“He is very creative and very humble and so talented, and also so warm and welcoming,” she said.
Khan bought the triplex spanning floors 46, 47 and 48 in Ten Museum Park from the developer in 2008, Rubin said. The 50-story, 200-unit condo tower at 1040 Biscayne Boulevard, which sold out that year, has four upper penthouses, four lower penthouses and four tower suites.
“He recreated the space,” Rubin said. “His touch is everywhere.”
On the top floor of the ultra-modern home, Khan added a full indoor kitchen and infrared sauna to go with the outdoor private pool and terrace, she said. “The pool up there is 16 by 12 feet, so it’s bigger than a plunge pool.”
Both the pool and terrace in this condo are larger than the other penthouses, Rubin said.

“This is the second go-around with the design,” and both kitchens were recently updated, she added. They feature quartzite countertops and walls, white Poliform cabinetry, and Miele, Sub-Zero and Gaggenau appliances.
From the entrance on the 46th floor, “you walk into a spectacular viewing space and right away you feel the warmth of the European oak floors,” Rubin said. This level has floor-to-ceiling glass walls and 22-foot ceilings.
“This residence is truly about entertaining,” she said. Khan created a wall between the kitchen and the open-plan living room so the working kitchen can’t be seen during parties. A bedroom on this floor has been turned into a dining room.

Up the floating staircase, which Khan created, there are two en-suite bedrooms, including the primary suite, Rubin said. This level, which has 10-foot ceilings, also holds a cozy library as well as another entertaining area.
The condo is in the northwest corner of the building, she said. “You have incredible city views and some water views. You have spectacular sunsets and the whole city is at your touch.”
“Ten Museum is a boutique building that is 66% owner occupied,” she said. “Most in Miami are only 40% to 50% owner occupied.”

Neighborhood Notes
“The whole neighborhood is being recreated,” Rubin said. The Arts and Entertainment District is a “little bit north of Brickell,” and it’s a seven-minute drive to Miami Beach.
There are two museums across the street—the Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science and the Pérez Art Museum Miami, she said.
Other nearby attractions include the 30-acre Maurice A. Ferré Park, the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and the 20,000-seat Kaseya Center, where the Miami Heat play.
