Tune in to Tom Brannen on Thursday, September 19 at 7 p.m. for a live demonstration of root canal treatment, broadcast live from The Campbell Academy.
Tune in to see one of the UK’s leading dentists provide a step-by-step guide to this complex procedure.
Root canal treatment can often be a procedure that many dentists approach with trepidation. Tom will demonstrate a live root canal treatment in real time to help you provide an efficient repeatable workflow to deliver predictable root canal treatments in your own surgery.
Root canal treatment is a delicate procedure that requires a thorough understanding of the anatomy of the root canal system, good access planning, and the use of appropriate instruments and irrigation systems. You will learn about the latest techniques, instruments and irrigation systems used in endodontics, which can help you provide your patients with high quality care.
The whole process in detail
During live root canal treatment, Tom will demonstrate how to perform an access plan that allows easy access to the root canal system. Access planning is a critical step in treatment as it ensures that the dentist has adequate visibility and access to the canals for proper cleaning and shaping.
He will use a dental operating microscope to provide a magnified view of the tooth and root canal system, allowing you to see the entire procedure in detail.
Tom will also demonstrate how to use proper instruments and irrigation systems to clean and shape the canal. He will discuss the nickel-titanium file system available from Dentsply Sirona that allows for faster and more efficient cleaning of the root canal system.
Finally, Dr Brannen will fill the canal with AH+ resin sealer and a modified single cone technique.
